I am relatively new to PG and love what I have seen so far in the forums.
I am a UK B-School aspirant presently working with a Big 4 accounting firm in Chennai. I am planning to give my GMAT sometime later this year or early next year.
A brief sketch of my profile is as below:
X - 85%, XII - 87%
Graduation - B.Com (Accounting and Finance), IGNOU, 64%
Professional Qualification - Pursuing Chartered Accountancy (1 group of CA Final stage left; I'll be sitting these 4 papers in November this year).
Experience - 4+ years. While not going into too much details, I'd like to say that my experience has been across a wide range of industries and two core specializations. My field of interest is Internal Audit and it is my wish to continue in Internal Audit post my MBA. I presently work as a Systems and Process auditor, after having spent 2 years in core / mainstream assurance.
References - Good.
Extra Curriculars - Writing (Tried my hand at writing a novel

I would like to try at the top UK Business schools. I am not that keen on US based schools but have no qualms about applying there should I have to.
I would like to know how and when I should write my GMAT. I took a mock GMAT at Manhattan GMAT without any preparation (because I had no clue about the exam, I wanted to 'taste' the severity of the exam) and scored 620 (Q43, V32). While this is indeed meagre, I am honestly surprised at my ability to score this much . I would like to go for a higher band (700+) and would welcome suggestions on how I should start studying.
I haven't decided on coaching yet - so any good books I can grab?
