Are the students who r not attending the prep course supposed to reach only by 28th or can we report anytime after 12th? Wud we be given hostel accomodation if we come say..... on 20th?

yar i am thoroughly impressed with the batch profile of hell...it is heavenly.. what say you??? will die to come over here...of course, can't go to hell alive, can i???yar.....can't say na?? difficult to say ki 6th june ko list kahan tak jayegi...i'm so very itchy to be an official member of this thread, not a trespasser.

Sundays are "generally" holidays atlst in first year.
after every 3 months(each term) u get about 5-7 days off.

as far as i remember the list of public holidays that we got last year are:
15th august(unfortunately was sunday)
dussera
diwali
26th jan(not everybody got this, few had extra classes)
holi
id(dont remember which one)
and maybe couple of others(not any more surely)

on 25th dec we had an exam.

besides during index, manfest and placements there are no classes, but those are defntly not holidays.

I was in the second list...Had exams and now free

Profile: B tech from MEC,Kochi.
99.68 %ile in CAT..got calls from B,C,L,K.
Converted only L.

Can somebody give me the distance from the railway station to IIML.
Also how to reach there from the railway station..

hire an auto for around 135 bucks(bargain hard and u may be able to reduce the fare)

First of all

Congrats to all of you for having made it into IIM L. I come to you with a request for some help (on behalf of a few others too). We are waitlisted in IIM I and now the only way of getting through is if ppl withdraw their admission in I. We are sure there are many who paid the fee in I initially and then got thru in L when the waiting list cleared. We are looking to find out how many such ppl might be there who got thru L after paying in I and hence would not be joining I. This data would help us estimate our chances much better...which otherwise would be known only in late June now as per the I admissions office.

May i request you to get this information through your Yahoo Group for L. one way could be to set up a poll in your Yahoo grp and get the data.

Would really appreciate if someone here would help.

ya increase ur count by one. I got thru L later so 'll call up I office and let them know. I'll try to start a poll in L group. I know few ppl like me so waitlist'll move.

can i still go and by whe will i have to intimate IIM L authorities

hi all,
i had given my approval for attending rems in the acceptance letter (i am an eng.) but after i got the letter stating "eng. need not attend rems" i got my tickets shifted to 28th. so do i need to inform the concerned authorities about this?

mukul, i m not sure whether u can go or not as i myself is not clear abt the insti's policy regarding this:).....tho i heard that some engrs were there in rems, u just call up IIML and confirm the policy....

gautam, tho i dont think that anybody in PGP office wud bother much abt ur absence, but to be on safe side, u may also call them up and let them know.....atleast u will be in peace after that:)

well shashi, as long as ur in your room, you can communicate with others using 'exodus'- the intra-IIML messenger.

'exodus' is the intra-IIML messenger(like Y!), in which all the students are automatically listed (or in Y! msngr parlance, 'added' to ur list)....it runs on the insti server and thus u can chat with any student in the campus thru that messenger without any trouble.......u can also transfer files thru it....btw its a freeware and is one of the most helpful things in the insti.....normally, we all keep it running on our machines 24*7......

the insti has a guest house with nice, AC rooms.....no hotels near the campus itself but there r many in the city near the railway station and elsewhere....
btw, if u r planning to come to L with parents, y dont u try to get the guest house booked??

Though I have been asked to report by 28th june, I am planning to come a few days early on 25th. In that case, wud I get hostel accomodation right away or wud I have to find some other accomodation till 28th?
