hey puys here are answers to few of your questions... 1) why doesn't icici hire people from IIM's or ISB? ans) if icici hires talent from iim's, it has to pay at least 12-15 lacs per annum to them and hire as management trainees and still it has to train them for the first year. so the first year these management trainees wouldn't be productive at all...and after the first year, these trainees would definitely expect minimal hikes.. guys hired from IIM's are very unstable, they switch over to other jobs for higher salaries.. I was part of the Bank Of America HR team and know abut the attitudes of people hired from IIM's and ISB.
2)why is icici looking for people like us? ans) icici will spend around 11 lacs on each candidate for the 2 years of study(7.2 lacs stipend, around 3.5 lacs to the NIIT university as icici is giving us a subsidized fee, note- 4.5 lacs is the loan and we have to repay it). after 2 yrs, icici will hire all of us for 15 lacs per annum, as we will work with that for 3 yrs, each yr we can expect at least a 10% hike.. in the second half of the 3 yr, icici will again lauch a global leadership program which we all need to undergo and sign a bond for another 2 yrs and we will get promoted with little higher salary too..in all aspects icici is saving lot of money and will regain its investment on us after we join as managers..
3) will these 7 yrs exp with icici pay its rewards? ans) yes it will, as we will have good amount of exp in the banking industry that too with icici and as now we already have more than 3 yrs exp.. at around 35 or 36(approximate) we will be at senior level positions... we can take GMAT and apply for executive MBA programs at world's top b schools with this level of exp..and we can keep hopes of getting admissions at stanford, harvard, insead etc etc.. now with the exp and the position that we have its really difficult to get an interview call even for an MBA program from these schools.. working with icici would be advantageous in long term too as we will be eligible to get into one of good b schools for exec MBA and then get a lift in our professional careers...
4) why is icici hiring people with experience? ans) it needs middle managers should be around 32 yrs of age and so hiring people like us to meet its criteria. and its advantageous for it as we have exp and we know business etiquette and they don't have to impart separate trainings to groove people in the corporate world..
Hi Puy,
I think everybody is looking only result related posts or related to call with HR.
But this is super info. Please send the source of your info if possible, is it some interview?
Hi Puys... Wat is the expected sort of job profile if one is forced to take up it systems as part of this program?
Same question i hav asked once in my previous post.. i got reply:
"IT means u will be working in IT division of ICICI for various businesses. if you r working in IT company then u ll do the same as ur client is doing now. "
Any1 willing to add to this answer in some professional manner. assuming lot of people here are frm IT domain, so hav greater probability that most of us may get IT as specialization.
Well guys why to get soo worried.if you are confident that you have given your best effort then you will get through.well I surely know I am definitely out...so all the best too all 😃
Puys, I have already resigned on 9th of Feb . But the notice period in my company is 3 months and I am supposed to complete it anyhow without any excuse . 😞 So, as per them it would end on 9th of May . But our MBA program most probably going to start by 25th- 26th april . They (HR) refused to accept buy out option . But I have to join it anyhow at any cost . So , what should I do ? Please suggest me . I am worried 😞

I am sorry mate but you have to consider one more thing. They are scheduled to start this programme in April but last time because of delays , it was started in april last week.
I heard this from some ICICI guys in my center that this time they will start on or before 15th april.
I am telling you because U need to prepare ur contingency plan if they will start early.
Regarding ur HR problem, talk to HR that I am going for higher education so I need to leave early.Companies do consider cases for higher education in separate manner.I dont kno about IBM.
Anyways Hats of to you, really like ur confidence.ATB
THIS IS FOR ALL WHO ARE HAVING 2 MONTHS OR 3 MONTHS NOTICE PERIOD.I DONT WANT TO SCARE ANYBODY BUT DO PREPARE UR CONTINGENCY PLAN IF THEY WILL START ON OR BEFORE 15TH APRIL.
Dear monalhasti, Duartion of interview never matters. My Ex-Room mate got selected in Oct 2011 & his interview lasts for only 8 -10 mins.
Hope for the best & pray for all puys ...
well thanxx for the info bro..but the thing is during the interview i was get a feeling from them that they found my profile like good but thye were like why i want to move when i am doing soo good in my profession with good acads in my field only..so here is my hunch..i remember one question..they asked me "so it means you dont have ay idea about banking" and my answer was straight "No".and after 10 mins they were like what else to ask and they said ok fine thank you. :))) so i found my interview more of resume reading than like any other interview :))))..well still hoping for the best...

All ways hope for the best....bcuse hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies......
guys from IT... i would like to suggest to u all that if u get selected for the program.. u will start the academics and u will get an option to choose the specialisation from the 5th term.. first 4 terms will be just the basics.. and if u guys get a hang of banking & finance... choose FRM or Corporate banking as specilaisation as the exp in these fields really adds value to ur profile and u can do exec MBA in the future and reach upto the level of CFO's or one of the legal advisors at MNC's...
below is the reply of theja's queries i got from my friend from OCT'11 batch who is already in this program..
Future esp.ICICI bank is grea8.Bt I doubt ICICI's initiative to bring in newbies like us into banking at such responsible posts..NU definitely better than all pvt institutes..bt below the premier ones.though faculty insists its better than IIMs..U r lucky if u get into this course.Course is hectic in first term, even b4 u realize anything the exams are over..2nd term u may relax..project pressure high..assignments..regular quizzes/test..focus on seamless learning..faculty is strong..except a few lazy bones here and there..This is a splclzd F&B; for ICICI course.so there s the diff..ICICI representatives visit the campus frequently and address our queries.Dont wrry abt accredition..the course is very good..even MBA finance guys are re-doing this and learning things..definitely..quit and join..no one offers such an opportunity..i may sound very optimistic..bt thats my take..not that I am a topper here
Thanks puneet
This is real benifit for all of us puys. But dudee still am really volatile abt this course. How do u compare it with IIM's. Before attending this exam and even after attending the exam my prime motto was to join in PGPEX-VLM offered by IIMK, IITK,IITC. But my dad, who is a bank manager is really insisting me to join in this course. I had a chat with one of my friend in IIM K who is pursuing the course and he also insisted me to join bcoz of the package and the reputation of the bank. Common puyz lets share our thoughts frankly in a straight forward way.Dont worry abt results.I can really tell u dat most of us here will be selected in the PI as per our discussions and the previous posts. So dont aste any time and start getting as much data as possible.
