I don't know why people are worrying about place of postings, when each n everybody is aware about the fact that PO can't be confined to one city,state or a region. He can be posted anywhere in India.
1. What if after 2 years after serving as a PO, one would b transferred to Chennai or Kanyakumari or Guwahati or Kokrajhar or Kachchh....would he be leaving his job?
2. People are advising to concentrate on banks having large no. of branches in desired state or rgions of preferences and to refrain from those banks which are having significant presence in south and vice-versa for candidates from South. What if this recruitment project is for the expansion of banks to concentrate in other regions and if CBI,BOI,PNB,ALD etc are recruiting under their expansion plans for Southern states, so it applies for Andhra,IOB,Canara n Vijaya.
So, I suggest everybody just go by your intutions, don't be panic for preferences.
I will just put the preferences randomly as per my choice without any calculations just from top(Tier 1 to Tier3) to bottom, I will get whatever be there for me as per my marks 62.76(Infact I am not even, that much confident, whether I will be getting one or not).
Hoping for the best. Wshing all of us good luck.
@shake_a8 all data are given in business today website...and they are very reputed one..why do you think they will show wrong data...these data are taken frm rbi,world class rating agencies,bank's own balance sheets,sebi etc...

from ur earlier post it seems ur obc rank is around 5200. consider this worst case.
Let mausam's list be only 50% accurate. then ur rank will be really around 7200. but total obc vacancy is 6000. i am 99% sure that 1200 obc candidates will definitely enter in unreserved category.(i.e., 1200 candidates within 7200 obc ranking.). Again think that this is only considering that mausam's list is only 50% accurate. but my guess is it will be around 90%. so you will definitely get into any one of the PSBs. But if you have preference then ony u hv to worry.
@bunswap its 18 if they wanted to give us notification thn till now they shud have issued that...now just 19 feb is left..lets wait for 19 feb with fingers crossed

it wud be unwise for you to go from tier 1 to tier 3....i mean no offence...but,giving PNB and BOB as ur first 2 preference wud be a mistake!
@nitish108 there are many paremeters to rank. it can be npa. turnover. net profit, no of customers..market share etc. so it can't be taken for granted.

... i am hoping the same regarding mausam's sheet n rank prediction....main thing as of now for me is to get job in any (any means any ) PSB ....thats imp right now ..just now i am fearing fr my notice period , my manager , my job(means in bank or in my cmpny both are at stake..very tough situation whether resign today or not thats 24*7 in my mind), lot of liabilities are thr right now on me so that will cost me more if at last i am jobless...hmm but life don't end here ...hence in short i am hoping fr he best but same time fearing for the worst also
@nitinchill your own wish...but every thing like npa,market share,net profit,CAR...etc are taken care of..and then one overall ranking is given to each bank...just see yourself

Heard the news that all 20 PSBs are going to merge into each other and in the end there will be only top 7 banks like BOB,PNB,Allahabad,CBI etc...So people with scores on the lower side should not worry because after a year or two they will be working in bank like PNB ,BOB etc
