Most of you guys are confused regarding seat allocation among reserved and UR candidates.Let me clear friends.First of all there are mainly four cat of searts sc,st,obc and UR (excluding PH,VI,OC seats). As per reservation policy 50% of total seats (27% OBC +23%other cat) is reserved.Remaining about 50% seats (=11058 of 22415) is UR seats.There is no 5th cat like General cat as such.Now regarding seat allocation take eg of PNB
Total vacancy:350=182Reserved(52SC+26ST+94OBC+3PI+3VI+4OC)+178UR nearly 50:50.Now the process ofallocation
1)UR seats to be filled first which is based only on common merit list so,here,178 seats will be filled first,top 178 scorer opting for PNB will be allocated first.
2)As per the merit list say there are 27 Reserved cat candidtes among top 178 (27 Obc in top 178 as per xls list),they will suck 27 UR seat.
3)Now remaining candidates lower in merit opting for PNB will be caried forward for their second preference.
4)At the same time Reserved cat candidates will compete for reserved cat seats so for eg top 94 OBC candidates from OBC merit list(excluding those 27 already allocated in UR cat.)wll be picked up to fill 94 OBC seats and rest will b carried forward.. the same procedure follows for each bank..
