Careers through SSC & Bank PO - a comparison!
Dear PagaLGuY readers,
There are a lot of misconceptions about SSC vis-a-vis Bank PO. General perception is that SSC is better than PO. But that's not necessarily true. But first I want to make it clear that I am not prescribing anything to anybody. I am just giving an objective analysis. You can still hold a contrary view and take your own decision.

SBI should participate with other banks to recruit through IBPS. They have created
such RUCKUS and CONFUSION this time. They are earning money by doing this. out of
2000 vacancies I think 200-500 vacancies will not get filled as most of
the candidates are going for PSB Specialist officer and even leaving SBI
Assso because of location constraint and they even didn't declared
waiting list and definitely addup these vacancies in backlog.... 😞
Working in services sector is difficult, be it the banking industry, hospitality industry, IT industry or Healthcare. The cons that are being attributed to a bank job are primarily because of it being a core services based job. Banks cannot operate from urban areas alone, and banks cannot choose to only serve the well behaved and literate and rich population. With the renewed thrust on the financial inclusion, banks have to reach out to the people which makes the job even more challenging. So when you decide to take up this exam, you should be ready to serve the people, irrespective of the place and the way in which you are asked to serve them. Even a civil servant who cracks the prestigious UPSC exam does not get the privilege of serving in a metro city in the initial phases of his/her career. A civil servant, too, does not have a perfect work-life balance. You cannot expect to eat the cake and have it too. What about a doctor who is serving in a government hospital? Do you really think that his job is easier than the one in a bank? Therefore I believe that we should approach this job with a positive outlook. If we don't go those rural areas and serve those people who have been neglected by the system for decades, then who will? And its really appalling to see that few of us are swayed by the corruption opportunities offered by a particular type of job. Its absolutely wrong on our part to blame the banking job if we ourselves aren't really interested in pursuing a career in banking. And its normal for a failed professional to blame his profession. The job is tough but someone's got to do it. And despite all its hardships, someone will succeed in reaching the top echelons of his/her organisation.
Hi Guys. I got 93 marks in IBPS PO 4, However they give me just 40 marks in the interview and I failed miserably in the final result. Now all my hope is on RRB OS-1 in which I have secured 137 marks. I have my interview in Central MP Gramin Bank on 24th of this month. But there is a twist. I am from Gorakhpur and I had applied for Purvanchal Bank which is based In gorakhpur. I called them today and asked what is the cutoff for OS-1 ? The phone attended said that it is 137 (Just same as what I have got). I would be shortlisted for the interview or those who have more than 137 marks, will get the chance. Remember both the form were published before IBPS PO result date hence many applicant would not come for interview. Thanks
can TC provided by college be used as character certificate ? or i will have to get it in other format..my college has issued TC cum CC..pls help !
Called Purvanchal Bank...
Cutoff for OS-1 [General]- 137
Cutoff for OA [General] - 170
I have 137 in OS-1.. I will be called for interview ?
puys will provisional certificate be accepted by the bank while verification is done?
THESE LINES REALLY HURTS ME WHENEVER I READ THESE LINES WHILE FILLING FORMS...........

A humble request to all fellow users of PagalGuy,I often encounter some posts with non-sense shayaris, jokes, heated or more often useless SSC vs Bank debates, first, this is the forum where we discuss about our careers and it's pretty serious.if we have to read shayaris and jokes we could have just went to FB or joined some shitty WhatsApp group. Second, just throwing points and discussing SSC/IBPS is better is not going to help anyone. If someone like Banking its there own choice, they may succeed later on in their careers and reach at top posts. If you like SSC more, don't try to convince other people that it is a better choice..study hard ,crack the exam and enjoy your life.convincing other people on social forums doesn't gonna help you a bit in reaching towards your goals,it may very well hinder your chances since you are wasting your precious time in useless arguments.
Thank You,
Finally the day has come.. 5 centuries of hard earned karma points :)
