Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down, past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself, "So far so good, so far so good."
How you fall doesn't matter; it's how you land!
Good Evening, Friends!! đ đ

Dear PaGaLGuY readers,
The IBPS PO-IV Interview Process has just ended. Many of you will have participated in it. It is expected that you will have some queries about post-interview steps with questions regarding the cutoffs, selection chances, etc. In this article, we'll try to briefly answer some of those queries.
1. When will IBPS declare the final result?
According to the IBPS PO-IV notification, IBPS will declare the final result on April 1, 2015. IBPS is not known for delaying results beyond their declared dates. Hence, candidates have to wait for just two months for the results to be declared.
2. Will IBPS declare the CWE-PO-IV Exam Scores?
Candidates who did not get shortlisted for the interview process are already able to access their scores. For shortlisted candidates, it was mentioned in the PO-IV notification that scores will not be shared before the interview process begins. Now that the process is over, it is IBPS's decision to release the scores or not.
3. What will be the final cut off? How will IBPS arrive at the cutoff scores?
It is difficult to predict the exact final cutoff. As per the PO-IV notification, the cutoff will include both CWE and Interview scores with 80:20 weightage, which means that CWE scores will be prorated as out of 80, and Interview scores out of 20. The total of the two scores will be taken for final cutoff.
Example: If a candidate has received 82 marks out of 200 in CWE, and 65 marks out of 100 in Interview, their final score will be calculated as follows: ((82/200)*80) + ((65/100)*20) = 32.8 + 13 = 45.8
Hence the candidate's weighted final score is 45.8
History: In IBPS PO-III, the written cutoff for General Category was 61/200, and the final cutoff was 42.20. Anyone who scored a weighted final score of 42.20 or more was selected and allotted a bank by IBPS.
Analysis: The IBPS PO-IV CWE cutoff was 82/200, 21 marks more than the cutoff for PO-III. This leads to an increase of 8.40 marks in the final weighted score (32.8 from 24.4). If we assume that the performance of candidates in the Interview process for PO-IV were similar to those in PO-III, there is a direct increase of 8.40 marks minimum in the cutoffs. In this scenario, the cutoff may exceed to 49 -Â 50 marks. The cut off is predicted only for general category only. For OBC category it will be three or four marks less than general category cut off. It is difficult to predict cut off for SC & ST category.Â
4. What are my chances of selection?
Since the CWE scores have not been declared by IBPS, it becomes difficult to predict the probable cutoff and hence the chances of selection of any specific candidate. If we go by the analysis of the PO-III scoring patterns, if you have just about cleared the CWE cutoff, you should have topped the Interview scores, hence reaching the weighted average final cutoff. If you have done better in CWE, but your interview has gone bad, chances are you may not be able to cross the weighted average final cutoff as well.
5. If two or more candidates are tied at the same score, how will IBPS decide who comes before the other in the list?
According to the IBPS PO-IV notification, in such cases the merit order will be decided by Date of Birth. The prevailing practice is that candidates senior in age are listed prior to candidates younger than them, which is also followed by IBPS.
