Although I think it has no connection with Hong Kong issue, it doesn't add up. The covid19 has a structural resemblance with hiv,the virus we are still not able to defeat! It has an incubation period also which is not common and it starts with respiratory illness which is highly infectious! It has multiple strains and is capable of surviving in air(and most probably water too but it is not verified).
