Some thoughts on the current political scenario. Do give it a read and please if YOU HAVE TO ARGUE THEN ARGUE RATIONALLY NOT DRIVEN BY ANY AGENDA OR IDEOLOGY. I was and I am still a strong supporter of the abrogation of article 370 but I willfully reject and also condemn CAA+NRC. It is now exasperating to see so many protests going across the country and the global condemnation it is receiving. To dig into the matter deeply and as rational thinkers we need to find the flaw in the situation. Some points worth considering are as follows:
a)CAA in itself is dicriminatory by excluding a particular religion but let me tell you the government would have able to garner support it it were to only implement CAA but the main issue and the tip of the iceberg is the NRC .
b)CAA +NRC would wreak havoc in the whole country where everyone have to proove their citizenship in the governmnet offices. As can be seen in the case of assam many genuine citizens will be excluded.
Consider the case of CAA+NRC : Let us consider "A" being a non muslim family and "B" being a muslim family and both does'nt have any documnets .Now if we consider A entered India in 2014 and B entered India in 1980 now due to CAA+NRC if B will be declared as illegal citizens whereas A will be considered as citizens.That in itself became discriminatory and also unwarranted and if NRC is implemented then what will happen to the people who are nomads or who have lost the documents either due to floods or any calamity.What will happen to the poor people who are illiterate who have'nt made any document.??
c) Last point but not the least and worth considering the government spent around 1200 crores in NRC implementation in a small state such as assam(3.6% of geographical land of india) just imagine how much we have to spend if we will implement this in full nation where we still are not able to fully feed our poor people and people are still loosing their lives due malnourishment or malnutrition. The amount may even cross our GDP according to some estimates.
Conclusion:I think the government should withdraw from applying NRC in whole of India and work towards the betterment of its citizens.
