anyone preparing for SBI Specialist due to poor performance in ibps interview?
actually I got 139 marks in written in IBPS(SO)2014 exam and interview had gone not so gud.......what are my chances....for selection.......when will result come....

i think tommorow,sumthn from d ibps side wud come out..eithr PO or SO...Coz its been 3 mnths since d PO interviews were completed..no doubt d rslt is prepared..ibps is waiting due to PO2 validity reasons..n tommorow it wil b over..to kal kuch to hoga...wat say puys??
another list for PO2 came wid 816 vacancies...now it is officially over...now d countdown begins..

**** man!! i scored 45.2(obc) n allotted union bank of india under unreserved category due to my foolishness in filling d preferences..under obc category,people wid even 40 score r getting idbi..really feeling sad..bt ek shukr h ki mje united bank of india ni mila which was my 1st choice..2nd was union..waitin for IT officr nw..usme bhla krde bhagwan..

Last year IT SO1 written cuttoff kitna tha and minimum written score kitna tha jiska allotment hua hai Gen cat??

Junior Mgmt Scale Group I (JMSG-1) is equivalent to Bank PO. The salary will be around Rs.30,000 inclusive of everything(fuel, newspaper, house-rent etc). In cities like Delhi or Mumbai, it can go upto 35,000-40,000.You will be on probation for 2 years. In those two years if you want to leave the job, then you have to pay bond amount of Rs.2 Lakhs. But you can apply for JM-2 within SBI without this bond issue. To move from JM-1 to JM-2, i.e. next level, it will five to seven years depending on your performance in both job and tests and additional certifications like JAIIB, CAIIB will make it happen faster within 4 years.
These jobs through IBPS and SBI (including Specialist OFficer) will be around for another 2 years and then they will become almost impossible. This is because almost all the banks were nationalised in 1970s. That is when almost all people currently in Banks entered their jobs. Now most of them are near 60years. So, maximum retirements are happening since 2011-2015. After that there will not be many bank po/so openings like now. Since 2011, almost 20,000-30,000 are being recruited.
The job profile of PO will be different from SO. PO is general services like account transactions, loan opening/closing etc. i.e..general bank services that you may have come across when you go to any bank.......But an SO's job is relatively limited. SO will have lots of free time, and will be working with companies like Infosys/Oracle to help setup new softwares for the banking system. There will not be much coding job because all the software will be bought from pvt companies, but SO has to have a general idea on how the system works and be in touch with the company that provides the software. Every SO will be have to monitor 5-6 branches in a locality. So whenever any software or system problem occurs, he/she has to help out the branch manager or staff though phone call or physical visit.
Whether PO or SO, there will be transfers every 3-5 years depending on the bank. There is no strict procedure regarding transfers. If you have acquaitances/uncles in the upper mgmt scale of your bank, then you may get favourable transfers. But be prepared for rural/urban postings.
Which would be better option, SO Marketing or PO
