IBPS PO V: Chances for final selection?

Posted in IBPS PO On February 10, 2016

Dear Aspirants

Select or not, in or out, this is the only question in the mind of every candidate, after the IBPS PO V Score Card of shortlisted candidate is declared by IBPS recently. A puzzle with 'n' number of  guesses and lots of suggestion to give and get. Stay calm & wait for the final result.

With just the Score Card of IBPS PO V Mains Exam at hand, several predictions about the final selection have started. Everyone is busy working out his/her chances of final selection. Some Candidates scored really well, while some other failed to do so. But does that mean they have fewer chances or no chances? Thus this article is dedicated for this purpose.

Now your final selection depends greatly on the interview marks. In the final cut off, interview marks play very important role. As interview procedure plays a critical part in the selection process, where two factors are concluded in order to fetch good marks in interview round.

The two factors are -

1. The performance of the candidates - If you have performed well in interview round, then you can expect good marks in interview.

Or

If you have performed average in interview round, then you can expect  average marks in interview.

2. Mindset of the Interview Panel members - This factor plays very important role, as the panel members always looks for the candidates who is confident about his/her answer and how to execute it in most appropriate way. They also look the candidate who are willing to stick around the bank for longer time.

What matters in this factor is that, how candidate represent themselves infornt of the interview members. Let's see the cases which may arise and can directly affect the mindset of the panel members -

1. If your interview was good i.e. you have answered all the questions but you are not confident in delivering your answer and look nervous during the interview round So, this can change the mindset of the panel members and in a way it will impact in fetching interview marks.

2. If your interview was average i.e. you have not answered all the questions but you are confident in delivering your answer and look positive during the interview round So, this can change the mindset of the panel members in a positive way and will impact in fetching interview marks.

If we consider the result of previous year's examination i.e. IBPS PO III & IV, a candidate whose interview was good and scored 20 to 30 marks ahead of the cut-off margin (a very high score) did not get selected, which means they can't managed to fetch maximum marks in interview.

In another case, a candidate whose interview was average and scored marginally above the cut-off i.e. 5 to 10 marks more than the cut off, received the final call, which means theymanaged to fetch maximum marks in interview.

We previously have predicted the final cutoff to be in the range of 48-49.5. So considering this cutoff, we are predicting the minimum marks a candidate must score in the interview to get final selection.

In the slab of (76-83),

If we consider a candidate gets 79 marks, which mean 31.6 marks out of 80.

Then to get selection, the rest 17 marks out of 20 must be obtained in the interview i.e. 85 marks out of 100 in interview.

Thus one needs 75-85 in the interview, to get selected.

In 83-88 slab,

If we consider a candidate gets 85 marks, which mean 34 marks out of 80.

Then to get selection, the rest 14 marks out of 20 must be obtained in the interview i.e. 70 marks in the interview.

Thus to get in, one must obtain 70-75 marks.

In 88-93 slab,

If we consider a candidate gets 90 marks, which mean 36 marks out of 80.

Then to get selection, the rest 12 marks out of 20 must be obtained in the interview i.e. 65 marks in the interview.

Thus to get in, one must obtain 65-70 marks.

In 93-98 slab

If we consider a candidate gets 95 marks, which means 38 marks out of 80.

Then to get selection, the rest 11 marks out of 20 must be obtained in the interview i.e. 55 marks in the interview.

Thus to get in, one must obtain 55-60 marks.

Above 98 slab,

If we consider the candidate got 100 marks then this converts to 40 marks out of 80.

For a candidate thus to get selection needs 8-10 marks in the interview which is 40-50 marks in the interview.

Hope this article clears all your doubts. Please don't lose hope until the final result is out.
