M2: please introduce your self
me:starting from my name, place.family background,my primary education, graduation, JOB after graduation.why i left and went for MBA after MBA i said i am teaching quants to competitive students(concealed my current job to avoid a situation where i have to justify too much why i am coming for banking..and that worked as they did not ask any thing like why banking) i said there was a bad placement season coz there is a stay order regarding gov companies hiring from colleges and our college is mostly dependent on that(that was true but effect on our college was not like to the extent like i portrayed) so i failed to get a job..so i chalked out what are the options left in front of me..and as management student i tried to optimise the situation with the resources available in front of me and started preparing for banking exams..appeared last year but couldnt get through, so i worked hard got through and got this opportunity.
M1: what do you understand by TQM
Me: explained that it is a management technique...the wholistic approach of an organization to optimize at each step just not at the outcome, right from the procurement to the final delivery of product ..by an example of production company..
M1:what do understand by six sigma
ME: explanied them about it like it is a statistical tool for quality control..told them the figure..and quote an example how it is also applicable in service industry and airline companies follow more than 6 sigma as repurcussions of failure is high.
M2:who gave this 6sigma theory
Me:sorry sir cant recollect the name
M1:do you know any other management tool
Me: explained a japanese management theory KAIZEN ..kai means change, and zen means good...that means change is good for the organization, and it starts with the fact that one has to accept there is some deficiency in him..so then he can improve him self..if one feels he is perfect he can never improve him self.
F and M2 were looking at me and nodding like they are getting it, M1 was listening carefully...M3 and M4 were dead like corpses
M1:there is one japanese management technique 3S do u know about it.
Me: tried to recall it...then said...sir actually there are 5S.
inturruption M1: R u sure
Me: yes sir..there are 5 japanese words starting from S ..that means in english streamline, cleaning...sir i am not able to recollect all...in japanese they are like serie.sutsuke...i am not able to recollect all of those name...M1 was trying to recollect him self..he added one or two in that .

Me: i said yes sir efficiency and effectiveness..
M1: which one is more important if u are working in a bank
Me: being a service industry....we have to be effective so that to satisfy our customers..but as a profit making organization we to be efficient too as we have to earn profit..so both are equally important. M1: hmmm ok
M1:what is ISO
Me:International Organization for Standardization, explained with example of 9001 2001 for quality

M1: inturrption ..do you what is the meaning of touch the ground and run..
Me:sorry sir i said never heard of it (Damn me )
M1:u dont know it....means be specific...hit the nail at its head..
Me:tried to convince him...with my approach of not disturbing other sections of organization which are performing rather to focus more the problem...chalking out the customers grievances....talked about comparing the two section one which is performing and one which is not..talked about proper training and development...
I felt he wanted something else...i was more wholistic in my approach he wanted me to be very specific...
