Since I have been recently bombarded with quips regarding interviews by few puys (I don't know why, am not even selected 😛 ) so I decided to make a post regarding the same so that it can be useful to all the serious players.
The suggestions:
1) What to wear?
Formal for Boys means only one thing- light coloured Shirt, black trousers, tie, belt and shoes should be of same colour, i.e. either brown or black.
For Girls: It could mean any of the following 😛 -
a) Salwar/chooridar/leggings-kurta (preferably cotton or wollen, avoid hoisery leggings and patiala). Colour combo can be anything as per your like but avoid wearing too flourescent or too much dull colors. Keep it in contrast.
b) Saree (starched cotton preferable).
c) Light coloured shirt and trousers(black/grey/cream/beige) and coat/blazer. Tie and belt if you wish and can carry well.
2) How to behave?
Tring!!! The bell goes. Take a deep breath. Open the door with a subtle smile, "May I come in Sir?" Turn slight towards the door to close it( remember not to turn 180 degree to do so, avoid showing your back to them)..With a smile on your face say "Good-morning/afternoon/evening" nodding your head a little to show respect (don't use sufix 'all' or 'everybody' after goodmorning) while giving a quick glance to all the members .
Now Friends when you will enter the cabin many of you will find the hotseat turned the other way or kept at one corner of the room. It is done deliberately to check your demeanour. With a slow and easy gait , head towards the seat, keeping a calm look on your face turn/drag the chair gracefully(don't fret or show even a slight discomfort on your face while doing so.remember they are watching you) and sit, with your hands resting over your legs (don't fold your arms or legs, don't shake your legs). Smile!!
3)Stay confident! How? Practice a lot in front of the mirror, keeping eye contact with your reflection. Make a note of probable and most asked questions, write down the answers in your language (a mix of hindi and english is always good).
They may ask you questions that you don't know/haven't studied or whatever simply say "Sorry Sir, I don't know ", few of you might be so unfortunate such that the questions thrown to them are the ones they aren't aware of, in such cases don't show a single streak of nervousness, and just to save you from embarrassment they will give you a chance by asking you rudely or calmly showing a disgusted face "Are bhai kuch padhe ho, ya muh uthakr chale aaye "(Have you read anything for PI, or just came to wander here aimlessly?) In such cases you should be ready with your favourite subject and a general Banking/Economic knowledge static as well as dynamic(Take the ball and hit a six )
Now comes the part. What to Prepare?? I'm copy pasting a word file, that I had made for a friend of mine previously with respect to his likes, hobbies, weaknesses etc. You people can make changes to such questions accordingly and prepare them.
1) What does your name means? Its synonyms?
2) Tell me something about you/your family.(Added later: Why should I hire you?)
3) So you like singing? What kind of music do you like? Which is your favourite song? Sing it to us. Who is the singer/music director of the song or the director of the film to which the song belongs? What does this song means/teaches us? Why didn't you pursue singing as your career?
4) So you said your father works in textile industries. Can you name five famous textile industries/companies in India? Name a govt. run textile industries. What is the common fibre used in textile industries? Where does India stands in the world in the production of that fibre?
5) What does SATISFACTION/DEDICATION/DISCIPLINE/PASSION/DREAM/ VALUES or PRINCIPLES means to you? How can working in RBI provide you the satisfaction?
6) Why do you want to join RBI as assistant? You have experience in this field, Why don't you go for PSB PO/officer level?
7) How do you see yourself 5 years down the lane?
8) What is your biggest achievement? What do you regret the most?
9) How does your knowledge is helpful to RBI/ Why banks after doing engineering? Why don't you join PSU?
10) How was your experience working in the bank? Why did you leave ICICI? Why do you want to come to public/govt sector jobs?
11) So how did you handle HNIs? What products did you offer them?
12) So your hometown is UP. Tell me the famous industry there? Major crops/cash crops? How many districts are there in UP? What is the literacy status of UP? What are the most prominent problems in UP? Which international organization is working with UP govt for the betterment of health and sanitation levels of the state? Interlinking of rivers is in the news, name the two rivers involved and the state with which UP will be sharing its river? *Least possibility of asking: Triveni Sangam-Allahabad/ Kumbh mela/difference between ardh kumbh-maha kumbh/nasik kumbh 2015/ next year kumbh will be held in?? #Most probable ques: Who recently visited UP(any celebrity/ national international people) and for what(last year bill and melinda gates visited there, remember?)?
Questions can be asked on Dadri lynching. Should eating beef be made a crime in Indian IPC code? What do you feel about the recent beef/meat bans during Jains' festival? Or the bans in general? Is Govt. right to impose ban on our food habits?
** Remember the important things related to the places you have lived (like some special food/place/speciality/major rivers/ any recent important news)
13) Do you have a gf? If yes, then Tell me a beautiful story about you two or (in general) Tell me a love story(I would have preferred SRK-Gauri story showing that love knows no religion/inter-religion faith).
*(Although these types of extreme private questions have never been asked in RBI/SBI, but candidates have faced such questions in IBPS/ BOB manipal/ IDBI manipal. So you should be prepared with it.
14) Any recent deals involving UP/Guj govt with some national/international org( Remember only those wich are extremely important/prominent)
15) General ques.on banking, whatever has been in the news in recent 3-4 months. E.g. RBI recently named two banks as domestically systematic banks, what does it means? BOB bill discounting fraud?
P.S. Please replace UP/Guj or whatever state/city names I have mentioned with the ones you have lived in or living still. Other questions may include from the names of your school/college. e.g. if you have studied in D.A.V, then you should know a little bit about Dayanand Saraswati.

US Federal Reserve interest rate hike: All you need to know
US Federal Reserve, the central Bank of USA, on 16th December 2015 had increased the key interest rate by one fourth of a percentage i.e. 0.25%, which is the first increase since June 2006. Here in this article we will analyse the consequences of this hike by US Federal Reserve.
Reasons for US Federal Reserve interest rate hike:
The primary reason for increase in the interest rate has been the recovery attained by US after the financial crisis of 2008. In this regard, the indicators for Economic growth has shown positive data like
1. US retail inflation is at 0.5% which is very low than Federal Reserve's target of 2%.
2. Unemployment rate has fallen to 5% which is at 40 year low and is expected to fall further.
3. In the recent two quarters the growth of US GDP is 2.5%.
4. Boost in the household spending, business investment, housing market. Thus the decision to hike the interest rate was taken against the backdrop of economic recovery in the country.

Now why would it affect worldwide?
Since globalization around the world has taken place, the aftermath of an event is felt around the world. Also US is one of the largest economy, with the GDP of $17 trillion. In addition, most of the trade in the world take place in the US currency. Thus any effect in US dollar is worth considering
Now consider the changes it would spur in India.

1. Trade: With this increase, investors would evaluate their positions. Traders will liquidate their risky assets and deleverage themselves from emerging markets. This may set off a selling spree in emerging market assets.
2. Indian companies: As globally dollar liquidity will diminish, corporates with external commercial borrowings are likely to face pressures for repayment.
3. Bond markets: The interest rate hike has the potential to make US bonds even more attractive, as foreign investors will pull out of emerging markets toward US bonds. Though there is a considerable difference in interest rates between US and India, the RBI has been lowering interest rates of late and is likely to reduce further, and this has narrowed the difference.
4. Rupee depreciation: The rupee is already trading at Rs 67.13 to a dollar, and may depreciate further. Analysts expect the RBI to intervene to rescue the rupee. This is also likely to put pressure on the current account deficit.
5. Domestic inflation: India imports about 80% of its crude oil requirement, and a depreciating rupee would increase fuel prices, which may add marginal pressure on inflation.
6. Key interest rates: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) going forward may become reluctant to reduce interest rates to counter inflation and stabilise the rupee
7. Stock market: An increase in interest rates in the US has the potential to force global funds to withdraw from emerging markets including India, which may cause the stock market to decline. They have already pulled out Rs 12,500 crore from equity markets since November 1. The foreign institutional investors will invest in US market since interest rate hike will be an indication that US economy is improving and stable, further FIIs will fear that Indian rupee depreciation will wipe out their profits.
Note: Indian market, however, did not react sharply till now because the Indian economy has been on recovery path and the GDP is growing around 7.5%, inflation is coming down, fiscal deficit situation is very good, external situation is also robust.
