How to control the flow of interview/ How to take it to a direction where you are comfortable:
We are good in some subjects and we prepare one or two subjects for interview, and we want our interview to move in that direction. You have a chance to turn the interview with your first few answers. Example 1: Let us suppose you are a commerce graduate but you are not good in accounting but you are good in share-market. So your introduction will finish with "............... and to follow the share market is my hobby"
Example 2: Suppose you are an MBA HR and you don't want to face any question from HR (But you are comfortable with banking questions) then if you finish your introduction saying that you have completed MBA in HR; it is very much possible that they will jump on you with HR questions. Therefore, while finishing your introduction, just say, "....passed MBA with 78% marks and to work for a bank is my dream" (emphasize on the word "DREAM")
NOTE: You should prepare general banking questions. Because it is most likely that the background of interviewers in banking. In addition, all are aged persons who give a lot of time to newspaper. So read the newspaper at least in the last week of interview.
P.S.: Frame your answers for general questions and practice them in loud voice.

Module 7: Banking Interview Preparation: (Positive and Negative points in personality) 1. Q. What are positive points in your personality, which make you a suitable person for this job? A. I am hardworking person. I believe that there is no substitute to hard work. Moreover, my analytical skills, communication skills and convincing ability makes me a suitable person for this job. Note: To convince someone, it is very important to listen him carefully, if you do not listen him carefully and your brain is thinking about your next answer/ argument while he is speaking then you will end up with a hot discussion and poor relationship with the customer. Remember if you give a chance to the unsatisfied customer to speak and explain his problem and you listen him attentively and try to understand the issue from his perspective, then half of his anger will disappear by this step only. The same thing is applied on interview also. Interviewers are your customers and you have to satisfy them. 2. Q. Tell us your negative points/ what are your weaknesses This is really a tricky question. Many at times, we never see our shortcomings and even if we know it, how should I tell it to interviewers while I want to impress them, but if asked, we have to reply. Following may be few options you can use as per your personality and as per the need of that moment. Option 1: (If you think, you have already impressed the interviewers and this question has come after that) "No-one is perfect, If you have noticed something negative in last few minutes, I request you to please let me know, I will for sure work on it to improve myself as a better person." Option 2: (if neutral feeling during the interview) I become candid (straightforward) sometimes because of my emotional and sensitive behavior, and I am aware about it and working to control my emotions. [Next question: How do you control/ how are you improving Answer: Self Realization is the most important thing while we try to control any of our shortcomings. If I realize it on the right time that I am flowing in the emotions, that is the correct moment to control it] Option 3: While I am working on something and if things go out of my control, then I get under pressure because of unable to complete the job on time and sometimes I need encouragement from the seniors to finish the assignment. I have experienced that I perform better if I am encouraged and positively motivated by seniors. Option 4: I am unable to take quick decision. First I analyze the facts and figures thoroughly then only I am able to make any decision. I understand that we should analyze the situation before making any decision but sometimes I am over-calculative. Now you have an idea about how to answer these type of questions.
