Harsha I think it depends on the requirements of each school.Generally you are required to send a scan copy first ,followed by a hard copy mailed to the school.
cheers

Hi Zahirx,
My question is specific to HEC paris application. How do we send the scanned certificates? I initially thought they should be attached to application Pdf file. However, it looks like it is not the case. Do we submit the application and then mail the certificates, passport and other copies?
Regards,
Harsha
Harsha
On the hard copy yes you have to mail these docs(by courier) once you have submitted the soft copy of the form..
On the scanned certificates u would need to submit them in case a link opens for submitting these after submitting the pdf appln form..(dont remember for sure)

Zahirx,
I had applied for 2009 in August. but still havent heard from the school. I am
ot sure if i have been rejected or was my application too late considering a lot of Indian students have already been admitted,
My gmat is 700 and i have 4yrs of work ex including some onsite exposure.
Please give your inputs on the admission process and whether i applied too late.
Thanks !!
HEC was closed in Aug for summer vacations, due to which there was no ADCOM meeting. College has reopened on 1 Sept. So you could expect reply soon. Even if you are rejected, they will send rejection letter. I too had applied on 1 Aug and have not heard from them till now :(
Hope to hear something this week.
Ahh !! Thats a little soothing!! I applied on Sept 2nd and since been at my nerves end. Can Any In-house HEC students tell us when is the pre-selection committee meeting ?
Cheers,
Harsha
PS: 700 in my GMAT too. Hope we all make it there
Thanks for your responses Harsha and Aditya !! I was getting very worried.
All the best to you guys !! hope we all meet there .. but first hope lets get a call this week

Hi aspiring,
Me too got the preselection emai. Preparing (hard) for the interview presentaion... And as in your case, i have yet to be updated on the interviewers and location.
ATB to you for the interview...
Hey guys,
Whew.. I just went thru the entire thread! And I must say it's really insightful. Tons of information right from the application process to the soundproofing in campus rooms
Special thanks to Rahul for directing me here...
I am applying to HEC for Sep 09 in the October deadline (hopefully).
My point of concern (guess i'm thinking too far ahead) was how to finance the MBA. The posts on this thread have bolstered my confidence.
Stats: GMAT: 710/5.5 , TOEFL: 114, WE: 5yrs (by Sep 09) B.E.
But here's the real thing: I have really screwed up my grades in undergrad. I believe it will have a severe negative impact on my app.
Please advise me all experienced candidates, should I explain the low grades in my optional essay in some way? Because certainly, it's not something that may be overlooked.
Also, how can I offset this apparant disadvantage that my app ails from?
TIA!
Hi Everyone
Congrats for my fellow classmates who have already procured admission and wishes for everyone applying to HEC.

As per long stay visa requirements
http://www.consulfrance-sanfrancisco.org/spip.php?article585

For non U.S. citizens, proof of residency status in the United States (+ 1 copy)
2) Please pass on details and your experience in getting health insurance for france
Proof of health insurance valid for the whole duration of your stay, specifically
mentioned by the insurer (including emergency return) with coverage valid for at least one year in France (+ 1 copy)

@V:
The application process is quite simple.
First, there is a 'Candidate Evaluation' online form that you would need to fill with just your basic profile -gmat, work-ex, etc. HEC will get back to you on whether you are a suitable candidate for the program, you dont have to pay any money for this.If you have got the go ahead for this, it just means you have met the minimum requirements and does in no way gurantee that you have a great profile for HEC.
Hi All ,
I have a query with regards to the Candidate Evaluation online form. I had filled this form a week back, but havent got any response from them . Do they actually respond as to whether you are a suitable candidate or not?
Many Thanks,
Kartik

Yup, you will definitely get a response. If you don't get a response within another week, send an email requesting information.
Hi Guys,
This query is aimed at some of the guys who are currently studying in HEC--
I had studied french for around 4 yrs or so but have lost touch with now. I had recently visited Paris (while i was working in Germany) and pleasantly found that I was able to recall a decent bit of the language.
What I would like to know is that, would it be helpful in terms of securing an admission to have a proper certificate from Alliance Francais for some level of french knowledge???
I am asking this only in terms of helping gain an admission; I know that it would be a plus point for getting a job there, not to mention the advantage of knowing an addtional language.
Some1 pls clarify. Thanks in advance!!
Cheers.

In my opinion, it will not really make a difference.
Hi,
just got over with one of the interviews. was a pleasant experience.
Anybody else lined up for interiews in Delhi or has been through them already...
I have applied for the Jan 09 batch...
Guys,
I have heard/ read somewhere in this forum that if u dnt know french your placement chances reduce to some extent...how far is it true ??
Wat are internship options and how and wat kind of consulting assignments are offered at HEC
If I compare it HEC Paris with Rotman, Canada - first of all is there any comparison - in terms of faculty, placements, exposure, international mobility
Hey Kayone
I also completed my interview on campus yesterday
... also attended a lecture..
seemed a little disappointing because there was very less
class participation.
But the Adcom said it happens sometimes in Accounting&statistic;(because its tough for non-business background students )
classes and also because that was a new batch.. hope that is true
Campus is good .. a little away from the city so commuting may be a bit
difficult but the students said they manage..
Overall was a good experience.. the prospective students I met are
having great work ex etc.. but unfortunately some are going for Part time.
Keep updated about your result!! Mine will be out in a week. Lets be n
touch in case you decide to go too to the Jan 09 batch
All others planning to apply All the Best to you guys !!
