E is the OA. But why cant it be C? I agree all other options have a pronoun disagreement error. is oneself a pronoun here.even if it is ,doesn't it refer to the worker.

Pensions are now viewed as a deferred payment of salary, money a worker is compelled to put away to take care of one's later years. (A) a worker is compelled to put away to take care of one's (B) that a worker is compelled to put away to take care of oneself in (C) a worker is compelled to put away to take care of oneself in (D) workers are compelled to put away to take care of them in (E) workers are compelled to put away to take care of themselves in
consider C oneself is not correct. Reference error here i feel himself in later years would be better only themselves in E is correct.

yup in option C , " oneself" does try to refer to the worker and thats precisely the reason why option C is incorrect. Oneself should be used to refer back to " one " only. Why dont u go through the chapter on pronouns from Manhattan SC guide. A sincere suggestion from my side ....plz take it in the right way .

1. D. The modifying clause should modify Quakers. D is in the correct subjunctive mood.
2. B. seven store retailer - "its" not "their". "Has been" communicates that the problem still persists.

Answer C
A,B and E are ruled out because of misplaced modifiers.
In D as shouldnt be used to compare nouns . The usage of plural form of penitentiary makes it even more illogical as a penal system( singular ) is getting compared to a plural thing.
I think, in this question, 'suggest' is used to 'express an idea or a theory', not to express subjunctive mood.
Example, Arthur C. Clarke suggested satellites can be used for communication.

hi Puys, 2.Reporting that one of its many problems had been the recent extended sales slump in womens apparel, the seven-store retailer said it would start a three-month liquidation sale in all of its stores.(A) its many problems had been the recent (B) its many problems has been the recently (C) its many problems is the recently (D) their many problems is the recent (E) their many problems had been the recent
Answer A.
its between A and B for obvious reasons .
In our ques, the verbs "said" and "would" in the non-underlined section of the sentence are used in the past tense . In order to indicate that the sales slump occurred prior to this past announcement, the past perfect tense is necessary.
A second approach would have been to focus on the recent/recently split. It is nonsensical that a retailer would INTENTIONALLY extend a sales slump. However, this is exactly what is suggested by the adverb "recently," which modifies the adjective "extended." The sentence should instead include the adjective "recent," which correctly describes the slump. Thus, answer choices B and C are eliminated. From there, the its/their pronoun split is relatively straightforward. Since the subject of the sentence is the singular "retailer," the singular pronoun "its" is correct.

2. A Correctly used Disposing of and correct tense

Ans A
Reason; correct idioms are : appears to have n from X ( comps and satellites ) to Y (dishwashers).
Lets try out the below After July, anyone disposing of or servicing refrigerators must capture the chlorofluorocarbons in the refrigerant chemicals. (A) anyone disposing of or servicing (B) those who dispose or service (C) anyone disposing of or who services (D) the disposal or repair of (E) someone who disposes or repairs
A seems perfectly fine to me . "Disposing of" is idiomatic. C breaks the parallelism.
