Between 1940 and 1945 gasoline consumption in the US dropped about 35 % because of the war time rationing. In the same period, lung cancer in the US white males declined by approximately the same percentage. Between 1914 and 1950 lung cancer mortality increased nineteen fold and the rate of gasoline consumption increased at the same rate. Which of the following facts, if true would weaken the above arguments?A. For each of the years between 1939 and 1949, lung cancer among urban blacks in the US remained at the same rate.B. The amount oflead in gasoline increased between 1916 and 1944.C. After 1950 the gasoline consumption jumped.D. During world war II, people suffering from cancer were forbidden to drive.E. I will go with answer choice A
@MANJULNEOGI John is the thief
@sanju200888 explanation plz

@MANJULNEOGI

going by Bo's statement :- Bo cannot be thief, else both of Bo's statement will be true....Also Roman cannot be thief else wise both of Bo's statement will be false....SInce only one of Bo's statement is true, hence either of John or kate can only be thief.

Going by Kate statment that "It was bo" , this is false by above expalnation, hence his first statement must be true i.e. "It was John".

Keeping John as thief will also make one of the statement of both Roman and John true and other statement of them wrong....

Thus, John looks as thief....

Please respond whether its correct or not.

@WittyGritty Same here! :/

in that case people commenting on that question later will be able to track the answer.....PLease try and follow this practice for our good only

Hello people.
This might be a little off-topic but am panicking about my CR. Its been 10 days since I started practicing CR. I have read the MGMAT CR twice (including questions) and have tried the OG13, etc. But I am still getting an accuracy ranging from 50%- 100%. I suppose its because I do all correct when easier questions come. How do I go about improving my CR to about 90% and consistent? Ihave heard the usual advice from a lot many people but it does not seem to be working. Should I read the LSAT CR book thoroughly? Reply soon
Thanks

@EducationAisle
Thanks for your prompt response. Well I am convinced about 97% of them, the rest 3% i have marked as doubts and will ask them to my instructor.

@EducationAisle
Assumption: Kodumboo definitely becomes a masai warrior. :/

Also another problem I think I have is that I don't stop after the paragraph to make assumptions. I cant stop from going to the options directly, I have this urge to finish before time.

Thank you so much for your effort.

I am facing somewhat similar problem, I am able to figure out the argument and conclusion and premises but in difficult question I falter at the last two options to chose from.

I have read Powerscore Bible CR and I think It havent made much difference other than improving confidence other than that it has to be natural ...Dunno how to improve my CR accuracy from 60% to 90=%

@EducationAisle CAN YOU SUGGEST ME SOME GUD CHALLENGING MATERIAL FOR CRITICAL REASONING, i have my thinking in line,but very less material with me so far as i was into CAT n all that stuff....

now i want to kickstart GMAT...

is there any smaller book than CR bible to read gmat theory ? please guide me with this.

@sankalp.verma A humble request..Please avoid writing "Is the answer E ..The answer is not A below the question." It gets into the mind of people and they would then not answer it unbiased..
@blitz83 wots the answer to this plz?
Everyone who has graduated from TopNotch High School has an intelligence quotient (IQ) of over 120. Most students with an IQ of over 120 and all students with an IQ of over 150 who apply to one or more Ivy League universities are accepted by at least one of them.The statements above, if true, best support which of the following conclusions?a)Every graduate of TopNotch High School with an IQ of 150 has been accepted by at least one Ivy-League university.b)If a person is a high-school graduate and has an IQ of less than 100, he or she could not have been a student at TopNotch High School.c)If a person has an IQ of 130 and is attending an Ivy-League university, it is possible for him or her to have graduated from TopNotch High School.d)At least one graduate from TopNotch high school who has applied to at least one Ivy-League university has been accepted to one of them.e)If a high-school graduate has an IQ of 150 and is not attending an Ivy-League university, then he or she did not apply to one of them.
Please can someone post the OA for this again!
