A bit nostalgic now. I had my GD/PI of GIM almost same time last year. It was on 3rd March at Ginger Hotel, Delhi. GIM was my only substantial call. Before GIM Call, I had already decided for CAT 2011/XAT2012. But this call gave me an oppurtunity. Now or another year of slogging at the site I was working (Reliance Power). It became so crucial for me to convert.
Last moment GYAAN : Thought Process : Don't think too much. Many questions will come to your mind. What will i answer if asked this, if asked that. I have low 10th marks, I have low grads marks, etc. What will happen? It happened to me as well. I had 77%ile, so i was thinking whether i stood even a slightest chance? My only advice --> Nothing would matter at the end. So chill and give a damn to all these. Go for a movie, listen songs, read some stories. You have done all the hard work. Now being tensed on last day won't help. It's time now to give your best.
GD : I was too scared of this GD. But when it actually happened, I din't know how those 30 minutes passed by. So again you need not worry. Don't think about what will happen if i get a topic which is out of world. It will be tough for all. Don't make any startegy. e.g I shall open, I shall speak 2nd or 3rd, etc.. Things won't be under your control. Just try to be what you are. Listen to others. You will have your chance. Don't keep on repeating your points. Talk sense i,e related to topic only. Keep noting what others are speaking. Listen very carefully. The panels check your listening skills as well. While speaking, face your group mates. Speak with a volume that is audible to all.
INTERVIEW : You will be hell lot scared before entering the hall. Especially if you are not the first one to be interviewed b because you will come to know about some questions asked to others. But when you enter inside, you will forget everything that you had thought to speak if asked the same questions. So again I would advice you to be yourself. Be confident. Be calm. If you don't know the answer, saying sorry is not a bad option. I myself said twice. Not answering one or two questions doesn't decide your fate. Never at any point get worried about anything. Let it be like a normal conversation. Keep smiling. Give answers that you think you can justify. It may not be necessarily true everytime. Play on your strengths, and try to drive your interview.
Whether you convert or not, it is not the end of life
Just go and have fun
All the best. My sincere wishes to all the fellow puys and all the call getters. Hope to see some of you (if not all) very soon

Hello Seniors, How is placement scenario for Operations?
no matter what happens, i will not give up....
Placement scenario is good for operations. This was the first batch (2010-12) when operations was available as major. There were some very reputed companies with good profile, details of which will be shared once the placement report is published.
