I have been trying to know about the topic " UN a toothless tiger". I could only understand that due to the ineffective sanctions imposed by US on Iran, the former has earned the title of toothless tiger.
Can someone give me more insight on the topic....as in why it is called so? and is the reason mentioned above correct?
There are many issues here. Once a country has become the member of the UN, it has to sign some treaties and abide by some commonly agreed laws in order to protect the peace and harmony in the world. Now countries bypass the treaty in order to protect their vested interest in the matters of international conflicts.
UN has not been able to do anything in case of a stronger nation whereas the weaker nations are generally made to toe the line.
Some of the examples are that of Syria, Iraq and many more.

As far as we understand, the number of seat is not reserved for either through XAT or CMAT. Based on the performance of the students a consolidated list will be created and a merit list will be published accordingly.

Yes.
Apart from this, there have been various instances because of which this title has been given to UN.
Some of them being :
The United Nations failed to provide an effective deterrent to the US invasion of Iraq.
France invaded Ivory Coast the same year with no resistance at all from the UN.
You have to see examples of how it has been effective/ineffective against stronger/weaker nation in case of a conflict and take a stand accordingly.

I have few queries here: 1-PGDM means general MBA or we are supposed to choose some specialization in the first year/before GDPI. 2-We have not been asked to bring our resume or fill any personal details form,then how will the PI process go.

1. PGDM is general MBA. You don't have to choose specialisation now or in 1st yr. It will be done at the start of 2nd yr.
2. The panels have all your data before hand. So there is no need of any details to be filled up.
Can seniors throw some light on the mandatory CSR project in the first year? Thanks!
1. CSR is Corporate Social Responsibility Program that we as students need to undertake in the 1st year.
2. A group of 5 to 6 students is associated with a NGO or a self help group or an organization working for the welfare of the society. This group of students helps the NGO in its work.
3. GIM is pretty strict about this and makes sure that the students are actually working for the organization.
