Hi guys, does any one of you have any idea whether IIM-CAL would be better for FPM in Economics or XLRI.
I have an interview call from both IIM-CAL and XLRI for economics. Main problem is time and dates I have to travel a lot, moreover trains are running in waitlist, so I feel it would be better to attend one interview.
Any one of you have any idea as to which one would be a better option especially from placement point of view once a candidate completes FPM.
@nitya.saxena I guess NO RAT at IIM-CAL.Just two rounds for Interview. The one who qualifies in first round would be interviewed in second round.
@raj_mann Going from Kolkata to Jamshedpur is a matter of 3.5 hours which can be traveled by local or intercity express where no reservations are required.So u can appear both the interviews as journey won't be a big hassle.
As regards to IIM-C Economics it has a very strong faculty base and probably one of the best place to pursue a Ph.D in India . I had a very tough interview 2 years ago.I did not apply for IIM-C albeit it is my home town since interview dates are getting clashed with my Semester exams at Symbiosis.
So donot sacrifice IIM-C for any thing.Give ur 200% to convert it.
@mmgg XIMB is still under process to acquire the coveted AICTE Status...called them up day before yesterday...Admission office says they will intimate by 3rd week of March about further selection....
Me too have got a call for FPM IIM C. Wud like to know wen the interviews are scheduled as in time and date? Its just given that 22 and 23 Mar wud be the dates. Does anyone know about the timings in those dates so that I can book train accordingly.
@Anisen Well, I have to travel from Punjab, Date for XLRI is 18 March and dates for IIM-Cal are March 22 and 23. XLRI authorities say that the dates cannot be postponed.
@preethi1990 The interviews on 22 would start by 9 Am and would continue till late evening. The results for round 1 would be declared on 22 evening only. The final results after interview on 23 would be declared by late evening on 23.
There would be an informal interaction session organized by us on 21 March night to allow the call getters to talk to the FP students of their particular area and get the doubts resolved. I would suggest you try to be at IIM Calcutta by 21 evening and depart on late 23 night or 24 morning .

I got a phone call from ISB FPM for a telephonic interview on Mar 10. They told me to confirm by mail and that they wud be sending out details through mail in some time. Did anyone get the same info ?
Anybody got IIM-I hard copy that they couriered?
