1. just 1 ques.. Is dere a UEFA direction not to give Messi a YELLOW card..? because he certainly deserved 1 when he went on for a stupid challenge on Raul Albiol. Nw u might be thinking what sense it would make to talk abt it.. it does make sense
If Messi is on a YELLOW for a 2nd leg tie it leaves Barca in a spot of bother whether to play him and risk a 2nd YELLOW which would rule him out of the more crucial FINAL or just put him on the bench and see if Madrid can come up with something special and if their final berth is in danger then get him on the pitch.
I have seen a few share of games where i think he should have been given a YELLOW but Refree chose not to.. though i knw some of them could have been personal choice to brandishe a YELLOW or not but for me that was surprising..
Barca fans i m nt against Messi.. hes still the best living player on the pitch and planet and a real role model footballer for youngsters.. a modest fellow who does his talking on the pitch more than anybody else..but the Hell Classico dominated more than his 2 briliant and exceptional goals with 2nd one being his trademark style goal nw..
2. Nw what abt Pep Guardiola's wicked pre match Press Conference.? Do u think FA would have let SAF , Wenger or Daglish walk away with it and not take any action..?
AS far his Mourinho he has always been bad mouthed personality.. Thats the reason i dnt want him at Man Utd ever as the manager bcz he doesnt knw what Man Utd is being about and but doesnt show any respect to opp players or mangers..
I always fancy Laurant Blanc for the pst with Solksjaer his assistant in a distant future.. he played at United , was signed by SAF and knw what Utd's values and ethics are. look hw he has started the revolution of the french national side which looked struggling ominiously under Raymond Domenech

Just shows how luck plays a part in sport. If Arsenal can beat United then I wont bet against Chelsea beating United too.

Firstly, am almost in the same boat as you - a true red devil but neverthless i hate madrid director's table more than the team. Also, I do agree that barca is a true feast for the eyes if we could just replicate messi, xabi, iniesta and 1-2 more but not the whole 11 especially the oscar winners
regarding your points:
1. it is all about mentality. there is nothing like messi cannot get a yellow, or red for the matter - it is just that he has created this aura around him that he certainly does not go for bullsh** thus making it a tough call on the refree's part to penalise him over anything.
2. FA is on a clean drive I would say. Sometimes it feels like almost a decade back when FIA was hell-bent on breaking the domination of Ferrari. At that time, rules were being made and remade and cancelled only to be remade after almost every race just to cause every inch of problems for the team. FA is hell-bent on going for literal meaning of the beautiful game which is a good motive although the execution might be questionable. But still, pep sweared on national TV in pre-match conference. That is not only in the country because it was before a european match. So, UEFA get your head in the right direction and try to bring the game back on track is all I can say
PS - was truly pissed by another gomez' blunder. More so, because now spurs are going to let MANC go to CL next season.

As far as UEFA rule goes, in CL group stages 3 consecutive YELLOW in three distinct games is considered for next match suspension, so Messi was never in contention. For example, Dani Alves or Mascherano are not missing next leg even if they are currently on 2 YELLOWs?
And about Messi, it is always a perception that he never dives or don't intentionally commit fouls. May be the ref keeps that in mind.
I give an example, CR7 dives, everybody knows so does the ref. In the last la liga tie between Barca and RM, CR7 dived and ref already being aware never awarded a free kick and rightly so. But when Marcelo dived (he is not yet renowned but will surely catch up) he was awarded. I think Messi's case is just like that.
