Football Club -- Part Deux

I have been following Michu since the last 2 years now. The entire last season, while all the eyes were on Ronaldo and Messi, I was trying to watch each and every second of playtime that the media covered of Rayo Vallecano, in order to know more about Michu.
This guy, I tell you, is different! He is a perfect attacking midfielder, who can adapt to both, box-to-box tactics, as well as creative, passing tactics.

Some Interesting Facts...... People say that Utd bought the league and now when chelsea and city have more money they are crying hoarse, for all those...

In 92/93 United spent £2.3m City spent £3.4m. In 93/94 United spent 3.85m City spent £8.2m. In 94/95 United spent £8.25m City spent £0.3m. In 95/96 both clubs spent £8.75m. In 96/97 United spent £5m City spent £4.95m. In 97/98 United spent £6.15m City spent £7.50m. So over he first 6 seasons of the Premier League United spent £34.3m and won the Premier League title 4 times, the FA Cup 2 times and the Charity Shield 4 times. City spent a total of £33.1 won nothing and got relegated. Isn't a difference of £1.2m over 6 seasons a level playing field? Keep peddling the myths...... that's the real story

respect to the likes of Swansea and NCFC they are acting very shrewd in the transfer market.

no doubt ManUtd had a golden generation of youngsters at that time and didn't need to spend much. everyone respects what SAF did then.

from 2000s though united spent a looooot of money. Before chelsea came they were the ones making 30m pound signings.

@champa said: @staradi I am really convinced that Wenger made the right decision , there is no point keeping a player who do not want to play for the club. Its good that Arsenal got good 24Mil. I am not sure why SAF bought RVP on such a high salary(235000Pounds a week). Knowing they will not get any value after 4 years. Also it is not certain that he will play all the United games. Anyways All the best RVP.
Up Gunners !!!!
Well to answer your question RVP is much more than a player..... he will nurture the young kids like welbeck, hernandez.... both scholes and giggs will retire next year and a club like Utd will need senior figures to keep the squad together. He a cantona type signing which will reinvigorate everyone after last season's crushing final minute loss..... ..

Moreover RVP single handedly took arsenal to 3rd place last season, some players are priceless and RVP is just that.... giroud carzola are good players but dude RVP is among the top 10 players in the world right now.... and when the best players become available you buy them...period. I am hoping the trio of RVP-Rooney-Kagawa will unleash havoc in the premier league.... that only time will tell...

true true...... football dynamics have changed and we as football fans need to respect that.... but what is interesting is that over a 40 year period which club stands tall will be the question.... the one with sugar daddies like chelsea or city or self sufficient ones like Utd and arsenal.....

yep. over 40 years though self sufficient clubs will rule.

these crazy sugar daddies can't last over 20 yrs.

as as arsenal fan let me shed some light on this.

RVP is a great player. personally he is as arrogant as they get. he might end up helping youngsters if they patronize him but don't expect much generosity from him.

last season he gave Ramsey a horrid time because in the Man City match instead of passing to him Ramsey took a shot himself and missed. as a result he had to suffer entire last season as RVP bullied him. he will definitely win you matches but the moment he realizes he isn't the main man in the team trouble will start. He along with Robben is one of the main reasons for the disarray in the holland team.

still a great player who will score tons of goals. i believe SAF can manage his ego to the betterment of the team.

it is quite simple though why SAF bought RVP on such high wages while mostly he will end up as Berbatov. SAF will retire in the next 4 yrs. he is planning for one last run of trophies to give ManUtd another dream 2-3 yrs before he retires. don't think he cares too much about resale value of RVP at this time.
Really heart-warming to see Arsenal and United fans standing together and taking potshots at Chelsea.
I don't want to comment on Arsenal much. The same talk about sustainability and dreaming of doing wonders when FFP kicks in, and hoping that Roman will lose interest in Chelsea one day. I find it hilarious, tbh. Congrats guys, you made a 24 million profit. Btw,once you guys called Chelsea players rent boys; at least we don't have to sell our star players/captains every year.
And DibyaDreams, you made a very interesting comment. "and when the best players become available you buy them, period". So it's ok when Utd. "buys" them, but not ok when others do the same thing right? You guys pay a 29-yr-old, perma croc, with one-year left in his contract 235k/week and then justify that. Again, funny. Anyway, you already know the facts. Living in plain denial is an excellent stance though.

It would be seriously interesting to know what formations SAF adopts this season because though Rooney and RVP are great talents, one will have to play the second fiddle,

Drop to the midfield, give in assists and sacrifice.
Rooney has played such a role with CR in the team but after he left Rooney has been the main man, so does he have the heart to vacate his prime slot is debatable!!
"RVP has bad attitude" say many, no worries..Utd are looking forward to a new Cantona says SAF

Welback, and Hernandes will now be more of fillers

The Defensive woes continue, Alexander Buttner is their recent signing for the very prone LB position, but is he world class, remains a question.

Midfield looks bright but who plays the holding role, Cleverly - will he be the musician, or Carrick does the same he has been doing, will Fletcher be back to his best..

Last season round about this time Man U squad didnot even have a decent look, and produced a " not bad season" by Utd standards..this time however they look good, and should make it count

All would be good if everything goes good, else it may become very ugly..
Egos will clash, the only way to avoid will be to win, cuz when you win all the wrongs are overlooked.
The best way to do it is to kickstart the campaign with a win over the determined Everton

i don't talk about FFP. i think football clubs should run like football clubs not some billionaire's toy. That's what i believe and i sincerely hope Usmanov will never get majority stake in Arsenal. i don't dream of a day when roman looses interest in Chelsea. i just think it is common sense that even billionaires will be fed up of their toys in 15-20 years.

win or loose we buy within our means. we try to win with what we have. we didn't make a profit this year BTW. we spent 40m and we got 40m and we are buying one more midfielder.

Not taking pot-shots here but do you honestly think Chelsea/City's business model is sustainable in the long run? What business survives posting an annual loss of more than Ł50M every year? Its funny how short sighted football fans can be when it comes to running their club. Short term success at the cost of long term sustainability is not how a good business is run. And don't tell me its, football and not a business. You and I both know that football these days means one thing: Money. The more money you have the more successful you will be. I cant say that the way my club is run is perfect. There are lots of flaws in our business model as well, but that's a different discussion for a different time. However, in the long term, I know for a fact which club I'd rather be supporting: one that is competitive and yet able to balance the books. Don't agree with me? Ask any Leeds United fan.

@[209031:first_timer] - I second you with that!! Man Utd fans are crying foul because now other teams too have the cash to splash on good players. In fact, other teams have shitload more cash than Man Utd does now, and their monopoly is gone. In fact the monopoly of TOP FOUR is a history now, as Spurs, Newcastle, Man City have entered into the race, and have made the EPL more competitive. I mean, whats wrong in that?

If you look at the situation La Liga is into, the third best team, Valencia is scores of points below the BIG TWO.

Seriously! You know what, the Newcastle team has one of the most under rated players in Europe. Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Papisse Cisse, Jonas Gutierrez.
I mean these are players who would become BIG MONEY transfers had they not been playing in mid table clubs for some league other than England, or Spain.

@[513228:DibyaDreams] well what to say, Everton deserved victors of the match and believe it or not without Rooney united is nothing even if they sign RVP.

Correctly said by Deepu SAF will not pat on RVP's back as Wenger used to do with all his players all the time. He will demand result(73Mil at stake :)) and it could cause trouble. That is why I said this is very risky signing either United will hunt glory or it will turn ugly.

well done everton. they deserved it.

David Moyes is the next Arsene Wenger 😁

Fellaini played awesome.
impressed by Kagawa (he needs to be deployed slightly higher though) and de Gea.
RVP needs the hair dryer treatment :P

Pretty much summed it up..... dunno what formation will Utd play this season, a 4-2-3-1 with RVP up top, or a 4-4-2 with 2 out and out strikers....no wonder sir alex is not giving nani any new contract, this guys just like walcott, will frustrate you for 6 matches before delivering in one.... Utd have some problems of their own.... a poor defense with a soft core in center midfield.... a long and hard season awaits...

As per arsenal i think the new players have to bed in, and also sahin looks set to join... he is a better player than song i believe....

Too soon to call I guess. It was only his first real game in a new team. Like Giroud and Podolski, he'll take time to settle. But he will score goals, provided he remains fit and gets a consistent run of games.

I agree though, what Moyes has done over the years at Everton is simply astounding. Bringing in quality players with a shoe-string budget and playing a tactically sound game. Just like Arsenal, Everton have also been terribly unlucky with injuries and I think they would finish even higher in the table if they have all their players fit an available throughout the season.

One player that I would really like at Arsenal is Felliani - I think he is very very underrated by most football fans around the world.

Moyes has also managed to find a gem of a player in Mirallas at an absolute steal! Hope he settles in well and they finally have the season they desperately deserve.
Don't know if it's true.
Fellaini interviewed on SSN following MOTM performance: "I did this thing today for Arsenal fans across the globe." :)

n Chelsea Kick Start their Campaign with a Win...Might be on top of the Table...if they manage to draw/Win against Newbies Reading..We Want a Win..Of course..! :)) ----- KTBFFH
