Football Club -- Part Deux

here we go again....

haters gonna hate....
&
Barca gonna win....

here we go again chelsea won, drogba scored but trophy is bayern's this time around.

So, two big games at Nou camp in the next five days .. also, significantly Chelsea travel to the Emirates, so there is no let up for them as well.

Who would have thought that both the Spanish power houses wud face defeats in their first leg encounters..But then its too early to count them out

What would be really fascinating would be the strategy these teams opt for considering that they both must try n win El Classico to try and seal La Liga
Do they settle for a draw, play a subdued unit, or go all out and risk second leg player fatigue

Chelsea also face similar crisis with Arsenal this weekend with UCL spot at stake..Di Matteo tactical genius or just lucky?

Football at its very best..Whatever happens I am sure the Football Wins

:banghead: so many missed chances !!!!!

you blue bloods can celebrate for now.....

but dont forget that the tie consists of two legs......

Do we attack Madrid or do we attack Chelsea ?!?!!

:banghead: dilemma !! :banghead:

Pep will have to dig deep within himself to find a solution to this one....

now all we can do is wait and watch.... :drinking::drinking:

for some people the tie was over before it underwent even
now listen carefully its football and anything can happen
switzerland beat spain in world cup (who would have thought that)

obviuosly barca are the more accomplished side but then with 70% possesion u should score more
no team has been able to dominate barca in a football game for 4 years that does not mean they cant be beaten here and there

nou camp with wider pitch will pose threat to chelsea but if chelsea score 1st goal then barca needs 3 wch will be improbable

Di Matteo tactical genius or just lucky?

Whatever it was; it was more than just luck. All the old war horses and the newbies of Chelsea were working their socks off; working hard to contain Barca. And Drog working tirelessly alone upfront. This was way more than just luck. Messi has never scored against Chelsea - so the blues obviously have a way of stopping Barca.

And thinking that Barca will flatten Chelsea at the Nou Camp is again living in fantasy world. Chelsea defence is simply too good to be flattened. Chelsea will employ the same tactics and try to get the odd goal. And chelsea have a huge chance to score a goal. They just have to lump the ball up to Drogba and the Barca defence will be all over the place.
And if they manage to score a goal in the nou camp; Barca will have to get 3. And when Chelsea sit 10 men behind the ball, there's no way Barca will score 3 .

This is going to be one fascinating encounter; but the Blues have their noses in front.

KTBFFH!!

I love the people wrote off Chelsea. Its always good to be the underdogs.Whatta a match..DD respect!!He showed how to carry out the theatrics on pitch without getting another player booked My MOTM Cole..Cech,JT,Cahill had a terrific game..I was skeptical when we bought Cahill bu the has proved me wrong..What a steal for 7 mil.He has recovered us already what we have invested.

And the tie is not over yet.We all know Barca is twice as much good at Nou Camp than anywhere else..But hope we could still make it to the finals.

And yeah Arsenal next. Will be a good match.Rest DD.Mata also needs some rest but he must start as it is a imp game.

Woooo!!!! its still has to sink into me..Its been emotional roller-coaster this season as a blues fan..Loving it!!

The hardwork from the Chelsea players definitely paid off..
Cole, Cahill, Terry were positioning themselves exceptionally well,Tireless in holding fort (Ivanovic i felt was the weak link behind)
Czech was sublime, Drogba's hold up play and ball winning was excellent..No doubt they deserved to be in lead

But the question remains" Is this all stimulated bu Di matteo or is it just his luck that his players are coming to the party?"
Brilliant efforts can win u one game against team like Barca, u need to be a genius to beat Barca (Touted to be the best on the Planet) at Nou Camp

Hopefully Time will reveal the Di Matteo mystery!
My second prediction comes true as well

Chelsea 1 - 0 Barca

The DROG was simply fantastic. He occupied the entire Barca defence by himself

Everybody taunting at double digit scores - well what can I say Barca didnt even trouble the scorers

KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGGHHHHH!!!!!

Bro I have no words to say ,your both predictions were spot on ...I hope you did not have some inside information or you should start a career with Bet365 they will gladly employ you...

Regarding the match as usual Barca dominated the possession with their usual tiki taka game but could not deliver that knock out punch for which they are so famous and of which United has bore the burnt more than once..

Chelsea defending was outsatnding and in particular cahill and Cole...in the initial few minutes Cahill was really nervous against the likes of Messi but gradually grew in confidence and made some crucial interceptions, Cole was superb barring an odd moment or two when he let Sanchez slip through..

Drogba well what can I say inspiring and disgusting at the same time...a 6'3" tall and lanky man falling like nine pins was really frustrating to see but happy that he stole the thunder from Busquets :)..what a pass from Lampard and lay off from Ramires..one inspiring moment dismantled the Catalans..

Thank God there were no refreeing howlers and favourtism although there was a rumour floating around that refrees's son is a huge Barca and Messi fan..he he you got to love those rumours ..but thank god he was spot on..credit to both seems for not palying dirty and for not being too cynical and malicious..

finally eagerly waiting for second leg...barca must be careful ,one goal and 3 goals to score against a well drilled defensive unit...

The UCL ties are still in favour of Madrid and Barca. Madrid favourites coz they got the away goal, Barca coz, well they have messi. People here are underestimating Barca not to score 3!! Chill people, it's only half - time. More interesting right now are the weekend games, Real - Barca, (possible title decider there) and Chelsea - Arsenal (who would have been really happy to see Chelsea work their socks off) in the race for UCL qualification. And no, am not a Barca/Real/Chelsea/Arsenal fan

as a manutd person i deeply miss these champions league nights, the champ league anthem ...everything
man hope next season we come stronger and harder

:banghead: so many missed chances !!!!!

Haan obviously , time to celebrate . A great win . Yeah 2nd leg remaining and its tough to win at Campm Nou. But definitely we wiill go through to the finals

Always been a fan of solid defending . And Chelsea's performance was a treat to watch yesterday
Di Matteo tactical genius or just lucky?

A bit of both I would say.

Putting Ramires to take on Dani Alves was a good ploy to stop Alves and it was paying dividends too..
However I feel he made some tactical mistakes too.. For eg: playing mata on the right wing.. being one of Chelsea's best player this season I would have loved to see him play in his natural position and dictate the game from there... Secondly I feel that starting with Drogba was a mistake(Prolly a lot of you might disagree) coz i felt Drogs was having a terrible game in the first half .. torres would have been more suited as he could have done a better job pressing the back four... plus the fact the barca were playing a very high defensive line made maters worse for Drogba...
We also saw that Chelsea were saved twice by the posts and some awesome defending by terry and co... maybe fate had it that barca would not win at the bridge and it happened...

All in all a great match... and an awesome week ahead for all footie fans..

All in all a great performance by both chelsea and bayern.... does barca struggle with teams who employ for out and out midfielders... remember barca lost to man utd in 2008 when we deployed 4 midfield players(hargreaves, scholes, carrick and fletcher) and demolished us in 2011 when we had 1 midfield 😞 player playing.... same with inter who played with 4 mids...

Unbelievable but against all odds it could be a chelsea and bayern final... and the 2nd time chelsea might reach the final with a caretaker manager in charge

If chelsea win the champions league and spurs come 4th.... oh well, really hope that chelsea do well @ the nou camp cause with a bigger pitch it will be more difficult to contain barca:nono:

Sad to see no Man Utd but i guess this is the circle of life.... evry team will come good in cycles, hearing reports that utd have agreed a deal to sign nicolas gaitan from benfica:biggrin:... just add modric fergie and we will be back next season... till then cheers:grin:

What a strike by scholesy in that match:grin:........also barca was eliminated double fun
Man Utd were missing fletcher due to wrong suspension given in semifinal in 2009 and in 2011,we had small chicks playing in midfield against the giants of barca.

Yes chelsea might reach final but they need to score at least one goal to give them away goal advantage.......hope it doesn't turn out to be like the barca arsenal match where van persie was sent off unnecessarily.

Get that away goal and all eleven players sit back and humiliate barca and it's fans

Gaitan is okay but they need something more in midfield to replace scholes and giggs,i think ashley young signing was a mistake.
chelsea chelsea chelsea

BLUE IS THE COLOUR :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

I SERIOUSLY THINK RDM IS GUSS IN DISGUISE ...LOL....

anywaz.....no its time to tackle arsenal....and TORRES must be already doing the warmup!!

Yeah!! Man Utd needs some reinforcement to be back at top in European competitions, and Modric could be just perfect.(Cleverly and Fletcher coming back wud be just enuf for Midfield to fire all guns)
But sometimes I doubt Man Utds wing backs. Even Patrice Evra is far away from his best..His positioning can be a real bad at times but still excels upfront..Rafael Fabio and Jones need to do better.
Whoever comes or leaves Man U will keep on Rolling GGMU

DD was the one reason why the barca defence was feeling intimidated... although i hate divers ..his on field antics was fun to watch payback time 4 alves, busquets, mascherano  ...was rofl when mascherano was complaining to ref about diving
maybe barca assumed they would win easily...that's why they were not diving and crowding the ref or raising their hands for a card....which has been their tactic for some time for big games like el-clasico..or maybe they have realised their mistake...will hv to w8 n watch
