Nice !! U used only Schweser or BT?
Hi ID,
Congrats !! ur quartile please
Passed FRM part I.
circuit76 SaysNice !! U used only Schweser or BT?
No I have not used BT at all.
Used scheweser, Hull (for futures & options only), Jordian practice qns, and last but not the least pristine quiz bank & mock test (i think quiz bank for every topic was the best and turning point for me).
Congratulations to all who cleared the May exam.
FRM Results for May 2012 Exam are released. You would have received the email from GARP, but in case you have not, you can check your result here
http://www.garp.org/frm/exam-results/exam-results.aspx
Best to everyone and Congratulations to all who passed !!
To those who tried and did not pass, don't loose heart. Try again and there will be better prospects for you.
Survan Congrats
Whenever you find time, please share your study strategy in detail and your experiences with the various study aids (Schweser / Pristine etc) that you used.
This will inspire and help many others.
Thank You

Hi All
What quartiles one should be in all the topics to pass P1 ?
hey. u think its possible to prepare for the Nov level 2 exam. In the time left for the exam now?
What material should one use for level 2?
vedajna86 SaysHi nimit....i intend to give FRM in nov...let me know if u wish to discuss it further...i went to finstructor...seems ok...pristine isnt recommended....
hi vedajnai,
i ll be studying schweser notes for now ,complete that n post which if required & taking into account time constraints would opt for test series, yet to decide which one thgh.
Hope this lil info helps.
Lemme knw if u got better plans.
Good luck!
If you are appearing for May 2013 (I presume Part1), bear in mind that the syllabus changes by approx 25% every year. So, for whatever material you get now, there are chances of it being excluded and new material being included for 2013.
Let me suggest a alternative method of study for you.
- Do not buy the core reading or schweser for now.
- Buy three books (or prints of ebooks) - Hull, Stats and Bonds.
- Study these and brush up your basics of finance (CAPM, VaR etc - you can refer to the study guide for details).
- This will cover approx two-third of the syllabus.
- Later, when 2013 syllabus is announced, you can take a decision to buy whatever material you want. Else you can post here and I (or someone else) can guide you for the relevant approach.
Hi all" />
I am planning to write FRM in May-2013. I have a graduation in M.Sc.Economics. I am thinking to get Core Readings from Laxmi xerox as a start.
1. Keeping the syllabus change in mind, can anyone guide me as to which other material do I need?
2. Is it better to get Schweser notes also now or later after new syllabus release in Jan/Feb-13?
Thanks,
Jack (:)
Considering your performance in P1, yes.

Hi leolazer,
Thanks for clarification. When does the new syllabus be rolled out generally?
I could get the "Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives (7th Edition) by John Hull". Is this ok or something important I am missing against the 8th edition? Could you be more clear about the other 2 books!
Thanks,
Jack
Generally approx December.
Not much diff between 7th and 8th Ed - though 8th is prescribed (I believe).
For Bonds, GARP has been using Tuckman (hopefully they will continue to use the same)
For Stats, many books have changed. Refer study guide for the latest one. I think it is Stock Watson. Or you may use any one of your liking.
