Apoorv Kumar Sayshey can anyone tell how many booklets of schweser do you get for FRM level 1???? i have the FRM 2009 booklets so according to that the course is of just two booklets!!
FRM 2008 has 5 books from Schweser. Not sure how come two books for 2009. 2008 had FRM as single exam, so maybe 5 books for the complete exam.

I'm very confused right now... I have 3 questions and if someone can provide suggestions I'd be very thankful.
1) What is the worth of FRM on it's own? I've spoken to many on this and I've received mixed responses. Some say it has very little scope and value if you're looking to find a lucrative job on the basis of FRM alone. They say you need to have an MBA or CFA to enhance the worth of FRM in your profile. How true is that?
2) Secondly, If I start preparing for FRM now, and clear one group before I appear for MBA entrance tests(I'm interested in doing MBA in Finance later), would it be a good choice? I mean would it be good and viable if I start preparing for FRM 1 for November now and at the same time study for CAT and other MBA entrance tests? I gave CAT in 2010 and CET in Feb this year and unfortunately for me, I haven't done too well in either of these tests. Should I continue studying for FRM and MBA entrance exams or do a job as I have no job experience?
3) Thirdly, how good is the combination of MBA(Finance) and FRM? I want to know as I'm seriously considering this combination. I'm also thinking about giving some modules of the NCFM(NSE) exams this year... how much of help will that be for improving my profile and helping me in the future?
Please share your valuable experiences and opinions with me... I'm seriously perplexed with the options I have with very little time to decide.

Heyy guyss i m basically dng the things frm jorion bk..as i didn't found Schwesser sounded on wht is actually required..we wont be able to catch the concepts deeply frm dis..but all dis actually depends upon one's background...
I m yet to start my Investment n Quanta section..
Still putting my eyeee again n again on the derivatives part...frm HULL.itss actually not easyyy..n takes alot of time...
bond section frm MKT sec iss vv assum..n vv interesting tooo..
As far as Regulatory sectioin is concerned i didn't complete it till yet...w'll try to finish in couple of the days...
but guyss i m actually worried for the grading n the type of Q's we have on exam..plzz sum one can help n guide me on tth part...I'll be highlyy thankful...

w'll just stick to wht i learnt ..in all dis ....once i complete...wht all is required...

Me one of those MBA aspirants who failed to make it in top 10 Bskools this yr... will take CAT in Nov this year.. Was thinkin of takin FRM exam alongside.. Cud u guys guide me as to how to go about it.. I think the last date for registration is in Oct.. But wud like to get a feel of it b4 takin a decesion whether to take it this yr or next yr..

Group studies and discussions is the key to crack this exam and thats something i realized towards the period near the November exam date. I have attended tutorials before, but solving questions from previous sample papers is the way to go cos the questions in the exam are UNPREDICTABLE......
