My Cil Interview Experience 25- July at 12.30

Bell rings for your call

I Forget to knock the door  

Opened the door without entering in room as told in interview guidance and asked for permission

They said yes

As I was going to close the door properly  one of the member told me to closed the completely

I walked close to the chair and greeted everyone by saying good after noon mam and Good afternoon sir's

They said sit down...

One of the member asked me you have done your schooling and college from Delhi are  ready to work in mining area 

I replied yes sir I it would be a good opportunity for me to work in remote location and to interact with new people and environment 

Then the someone asked just tell me one state where coal mine is present and you want to be posted 

After thinking for 2-3second( 2-3 second in this interview was like 2-3 hrs) I said Maharashtra

Why Maharashtra?

I said western coalfield is there and it HQ is at Nagpur so it will be close to Delhi 

At that moment they realised that I know about every subsidiaries and their location so in between I told them all location are at same distance so I have no problem in any location 

From Where do you come to know about WCL 

I said from cil website and from Annual report for FY 2015-2016

What else do you know 

I said total coal production for this year is 539 Mt out of which 505 mt is from open cast and remaining 34 from underground 

Total profit for this year is ₹16343 crore with an increase of 2960 crore 

All of them were surprised when I was mentioning the data

I said cil is improving rail connectivy in three coal mines ECL CCL SECL

it has procured more HEMM

Then the question comes have you seen a power shovel ?

I said yes 

Tell us something about power shovel and name any part you know 

I said it is used for removing overburden in mining 

Dripper is one the part and it is first lowered and then dragged against the surface then it is lifted to suitable height and swinging operation is performed and finally overburden is dumpped 

Then my college professor takes the rest of the interview all other  members was just looking at me and no questions from them

You are absent in one of the semester exam why?

I said I was not fit at that time they were not convinced from this answer 

Then he asked ques tion from mechatronics 

I don't remember the ques 

Next ques was name non conventional machining process

I said ultrasonic machining, abrasive jet machining, abrasive water jet 

What are the parameter in ultrasonic machining?

I know this answer but at that time I was blank 

Then he asked for fav subject ?

I said strength of material 

Ques what is point of contra flexure?

Where shear force is zero and where is bending moment is max 

I told them all the answer 

Then he asked about curved beams and within 4-5sec asked 3-4 ques from curved beam

I said sorry sir I don't know 

Que what the parameter in Mohr circle

I said max principal stress min principal stress max shear stress principal angles

What is the angke between principal plane

I said 90 degree

Why only 90?

Don't know 

Then they said you may leave 

I said thank you sir and walked out of the room
