 P(a , b)  = P(a-b, b)     if a>=b

              =  a                if a<b
It is given that P (a, 7) = 4; P(a, 11) = 6 and P(a, 13) = 3. If ‘a’ is a positive integer between 2000 and 3000, find the value of P(a, 17).
I understand that we get a = 4+7p, 6+11q, 3 +13r. How do we solve later?

If a and x are real numbers satisfying a^(x-1) = a^(2x+1). Find x.

Please explain
