John is in a room of dimensions 10 m x 10 m. He is standing at the center of one of the walls. Suddenly the walls of the room start closing in on him. All four walls move towards the center of the room at a uniform rate of 10 cm/sec. The dimensions of the walls are adjusted magically according to the new size of the room at each moment. As soon as the walls start moving, he frantically runs from the center of one wall to the next (if he is standing at the east wall, he runs to the north, then west, then south and then back to the east wall). He keeps doing this till the room completely closes in on him. Assume that the dimensions of John are negligible and that he runs at a speed of 5 m/sec. How much distance (in meters) would he have run before he is killed?

You have two beakers with capacities of 4 liters and 5 liters respectively. You also have a tap which you can use at max 2 times to fill any one of the two beakers. (You cannot leave the tap running.) You want to water a plant with exactly 7 liters. What is the least amount of water (in liters) that you will need from the tap to accomplish this task?

The Clinton v/s Trump war has taken a new turn. Each of them is planning to use a number of posters to campaign and the one who has more posters has better chances at winning. Hillary manages to get a hand on 6 posters of trump. They are numbered 55,31,39,23,47,15. Hillary also believes that this is a fairly “well-distributed sample” with respect to the population (which is obviously numbered 1 to N). Using this data, what is the closest estimate she can make of the total posters that Trump is going to use?

Off topic.....How are the Handa ka Funda mocks for CAT ?

In an exam every question correctly answered fetches 2 marks. Every question wrongly answered loses 1 marks. unanswered question have no marks associated with them. ram and shyam wrote this exam. ram attempted a certain number of questions and 30 % of them went wrong. shayam attempted a certain number of questions anf 40% of them went wrong. ram got 40 marks more than the pass mark. shyam got 25 marks more than the pass mark. the two of them together attempted a total of 100 questions.

Explain in simplified way

Find the  distance travelled by the aeroplane, if 2000 litres of fuel was burnt  while travelling at 784 km/hr.
