In a kindergarten class of less than 40 kids, all the available toys are distributed amongst the kids, so that each kid gets at least one toy. There are three kinds of toys - tricycles, dolls and balloons. No child is given two toys of the same kind.
The number of kids having a doll as well as a balloon is one more than those having a tricycle as well as a doll but not balloon and one less than those howing a tricycle as well as a balloon but not doll...
The number of kids having a doll as well as a balloon = Does this statement mean the kids with doll and balloons ONLY (excluding those with tricycle) ?

A page has both horizontal and vertical ruled lines in the form of a grid with 8 columns. A student starts entering positive integers 1, 2, 3, 4, ... such that he enters the first four integers in the 1st row beginning from the 2nd column, then 4th column, then 6th column and finally 8th column. Then he writes the numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the 2nd row starting from the 7th column, then 5th column, then 3rd column and finally 1st column respectively. If he continues entering the numbers in such manner, in which row and column will the number 134222 appear?

Two boats start towards each other, from the two points exactly opposite of each other on the opposite banks of a river, simultaneously. They meet at a distance of 410 m from one of the banks and continue sailing further till they reach the opposite banks. They take rest for 1 hr each and start off the return journey taking the same route. Now they meet at a distance of 230 m from the other bank. Find the distance between the two banks. (Assume that river water is still.)
