Message to all aspirants preparing for GD PI and WAT. It has come to notice that a person going by the name Meet Shah is luring aspirants by saying he will give a "Mega Doc" on 150+ Topics. He has taken a lot of their money and gave a self prepared substandard document. He blocks everyone's number after they pay him. Students are requested to be careful with money and not fall for such schemes. There are many free resources available too. Please make use of them instead
A short story..
I am a General candidate and a colleague at my IT company is an SC candidate.
I use a MI phone, and cautious about spending money. His family is rich, uses an iPhone XS, goes clubbing every week, travels to Goa, Singapore and Dubai every year. Working at an IT company since last 1 year. I have prepared very hard for last 2 years for CAT, and scored 98 %ile this year.Â
He knew he has to just appear for the CAT exam and would get admission at a top IIM at even 65-70%ile. So he spent most of his time watching movies, travelling to places, whereas I had to study hard as I needed 98+ for a good college. He hardly prepared for 1 month. Â When CAT results came, he scored 72%ile. He has got calls from IIM C,L, I, K, S, IIFT at 72%ile.. and I got from new IIMs and Shillong..Â
Now, everybody in the office is praising him for his intelligence and mighty IIM calls. Nobody knows how he got those. While my calls are not that reputed, even when I am much more talented that him...
He would be earning 20-25 Lakhs 2 years later and I would be earning 10-15 Lakhs only, being much more talented and hard-working than him. While He would be spending his time in the B-schools watching movies and travelling, as he has got this opportunity without any hard work. While I will have to study to get a good job.
Only because he was born with 2 previleges:
1. SC category
2. Born in a rich family
So, Who says, 'there is nothing called as Luck'?Â
Where is India heading to? Reservation is a mental and social torture for a General category student, especially for those who belong to not-so-rich families, who study like Donkeys and in the end the real Donkeys get admissions in top colleges and get plush government jobs, who will flash their castes to get a good life their whole life..Â
P.S.- A General category student... #stopreservation

I just read a post where someone called the SC/ST candidate an idiot. Â How can you guys be such a moron? Do you even know why the government has provided reservations to the different classes? Do you even know what the plight is of most of the SC/ST candidates? You just read one example and abused the entire community? Shame on your knowledge, shame on your education, shame on your CAT preparation. You donât even deserve to be an MBA graduate with such a knowledge. Do you know most of the SC candidates are those have been living below the poverty line for generations? Most of them are those whose family works in house cleaning and local petty jobs, they just earn bare minimum to get their child educated, use the reservation to get into better education systems. Since most of us get things easily, like the full-time electricity, a separate room for us to study, availability of books we need to study, easily available stationaries like a pen or a pencil, we just forget the plight of the poor and some of them end up using word like âidiotâ for them. Yes, this is the word someone used here for the SC/ST candidates. I bet you guys, if you were born in one such family of an SC or ST, forget your CAT preparation or the charming â90 PERCENTILEâ, you would have been washing dishes in a local restaurant, wrapped in old torn clothes and cursing the government for not giving you enough reservation. Please think before writing against the poor. Please donât take an exception as the norm.

The reservation debate
Assumption-
-
All the general candidates and their families are well off considering their caste and ancestral legacy.
-
All the reserved category candidates belong to socially backward, deprived and subjugated sections of the society.
-
Reservation will benefit the actual societies, tribes and castes standing at the suffering end of the Indian Caste system and also pave the way for the inclusion of tribal societies from remote regions of India (forest regions of Arunachal, Andman, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh etc).
Reality-
-
Though it has uplifted many families and societies yet people who belong to tribal areas and remote regions of India are still not benefiting from it due to the lack of availability of early education.
-
A lot has changed in last 70 years from stripping off privy purses to Zamindari system. Caste system in urban areas have become a synonym for nothing and the so-called legacies are forgotten decades back. Many families from both sides of privilege have made a paradigm shift in their economic prosperity.
Future course of action-
-
An amendment is required for the non-inclusion of economically prosperous families from the reserved category as they are already uplifted in the social system. Also, the cap for the EWS category should be reduced as the meagre 10 percentage cannot benefit such a largescale strata of population.
-
The reservation benefits to be limited to either education or employment, if the person is already getting admitted to an elite institute like IIT/IIM in India, he/she should not be given further reservation in govt. jobs.
-
Based on the demographic analysis of each caste and the no. of underprivileged families in the same from the data collected through bank accounts/ IT department/ State Govt, further of percentage change in percentage can be devised.
Or
Abolish the whole caste based reservation system and start a new system based on the family income, with digitization, the govt has the capability to collect the required data.
PS - These are my personal views on reservation system and are not intended to malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, or individual.
- I support formulation of new reservation system based on economic status.
- I support caste based reservation.

You do all the bad deeds in your previous life , and how do God decides to punish you ? Ever wondered ...by giving u birth in ' MIDDLE CLASS GENERAL FAMILY ' - rejected general
Thanks to all who supported the reservation. I would like to mention that Iâm not from any SC/ST category. I was fighting for a friend of mine who is not registered in this forum. Â I met him a few years back when one day he happened to tell me about his background of being an ST and where he had come from. I was not a supporter of reservation as well till I saw an example in front of me. Most of us are privileged in many ways but we should not forget our duty to give back to the society. Even if we canât, at least we can support the ones, the government, who are trying to help them.
The SC/ST idiots thing. The guy who got offended by it, im sorry but I stand by it. I feel you have not experienced it by studying in a govt. institute. A. If you get into an IIM track how all those SC/ST guys do by their CPI in the 2nd year. My tracking in my B.Tech came to be 2 out of 25 who performed/competed with the general guys. The rest were stupid rich idiots. 5 of them were actually poor and were the only ones who benefitted from the reservations. The rest are idiots who snatched seats. B. If you think i dont deserve to be in an IIM, i double dare you to even touch my academic records. I study my azs off to beat this stupid system and i know not all general guys can do like me. I have done this once in JEE and i am sure i will do it again in CAT. I may not get into A,B,C but i sure can beat the SC/ST idiots there. C. There is a question that i always think. If you say those sc/st guys study hard to get in, what happens when they have all the opportunities and medium after getting in to compete with the rest. Do they have performance issues?. They are flawed from the start as the 23 out of 25 take it for granted for which i call them idiots. D. This system has been here for 60+ years. 3 maybe 4 generations of family have been through this and you say that the reserved guy are struggling?? My own grandfather being was able to move ahead from a rural farmer family to the urban city only due to his hardwork and a little help from the OBC reservation. Now that I'm out of the quota, my father has disciplined me enough that only hardwork can get me ahead and this is what i will teach my children. E. Im sure you will be surprised when you get in IIMs and see how many SC/ST guys will be there in suits with govt. subsidised laptops, free tuition and scholarships on top of it. Yet 23 out of 25 are among the low CPI holders. P.S. its only the OBC guys for whom i still have the respect since its income based and those guys really appreciate the opportunity they get.
Why was the Indian caste system created ? XD
