In iim C interview form, they ask for fmaily income which according to them is father/mother, brother/sister, spouse etc. If we include entire family who wouldnt have income over 8 lpa? There will actually be very few people under EWS category in that case.

India can never match the economic prowess of America and China only because in leading insititutes which are the so called pride of Indian education, 50% seats are reserved. Just imagine if these 50% seats were given to deserving candidates only on the basis of Merit, We would have been the best in terms of Quality education and Quality workforce. These reserved seats have done a lot of damage. My suggestion to those who have scores good marks in exams, Dont feel disheartened, Just have some good work ex and give exams like gmat, gre and apply abroad, You will be much more satisfied with your life and be happy about your efforts, They give a lot of weigtage to efforts and not only "reservation".
