Hi guys,

I've witnessed a drop in my VARC score across mocks and sectionals, from mid-60s last year to barely being able to manage a 40 this season. Not entirely sure what I was doing right earlier. Attempting the section for me is fairly instinctive. Anyone here who's witnessed something similar with their preparation journey and managed to bounce back or can share tips to attempt the section overall (especially RCs), please DM me.

Hey guys, my helplessness is forcing me to post.

Seeing past years trends it's quite evident that getting somewhere around 27-30 marks, ie 10-12 questions out of 32 questions in DILR can fetch you 90 percentile. My highest has been 23 in one the AIMCAT till now. One of my friends, who gave CAT last year told me for VARC and QA, CAT is comparetively easy but DILR mein CAT baap hota hai (excatly his words). Quite worried, any suggestion on how to improve in 3 weeks is invited. I know it's quite less a time but still!!!! If I can improve on this, I can even reach 99!! Please help me getting there. 😄

To all the CAT aspirants, the last thing you should do now is to give up. Getting low scores in a mock is no big deal. Believe me, hard work always pays. If not tomorrow, someday it will. All I would suggest is work hard in these last few days, take a mock every alternate days or every 3 days and review it very seriously. Stay focused and don’t overstress. Get rid of the negative thoughts. I know it is easier said than done. I was also in the similar situation last year. Myriad thoughts keep coming to mind, but if you keep calm, half the game is done. I got ~75%ile in one of the TIME mocks two weeks before CAT, but ended up getting ~98.5%ile on the D-day. These last few days matter a lot and it all now depends on how you channelize yourself in the coming few days. People keep asking me about the luck factor in CAT and no doubt, it will be there but it will favour only those who have worked hard. “It’s just  a matter of time before we are late.”
