Say,I am in a bschool where a certain company doesn't visit for placements. But I really want to go that company and apply externally. Since they don't visit that bschool will my application not be considered at all?
If I have done my graduation from a relatively unknown college but my GPA/percentage is 9.00/90%+,does the fact that I'm not from a good college have any bearing on my profile or will the percentage in graduation compensate for that? (Non engineer)

Currently waitlisted at IIFT K (398), NITIE(337) and MDI(562) looks difficult to convert any of these b-schools.
Waiting for CAP results.
This was my first serious attempt at CAT and so would want to know if I should try for one more time or join any new IIM(if I convert)?.
And also will 3years work ex. negatively affect my chances at placements?
Stream not yet finalised.

I am still confused between MDI and CAT 18. Seniors and peolpe in the same boat, please guide me on this. Have to make the decision within few days. CAT 17: 99.66 Rejects: SP Jain, C, IIFT, Lucknow Kozhikode (WL 495) FMS (WL 140) Converts: MDI GEM Fresher. (Still in final year) Have a core job in hand. I can really use some genuine advice. My interest lies mostly in marketing if I'll do my MBA this year. But if I'll get some work ex then I might go for operations or finance.
