Ā
Came back on PG and before it gets any later ā IIFT Delhi it is.
I would like to share a small story/message with you Puys
Everyone faces a time in their life when nothing goes according to you. You can plan a thousand exigencies but god/luck/fate would find that one thousand and oneth way to disrupt all that. I was facing the same for the last 8 years inspite of any hardwork I put in. In restrospect I realise they provided a learning lesson like no other.
I started my journey 2 years ago in 2016. Couldn't clear the DILR sectionals in CAT 2016. Prepared again diligently. Took some risks in CAT 2017, which backfired and I ended up with a less than desired percentile. Thankfully IIFT saved the day for me.Ā
I was aware of the curse I carried with me ā GEM Fresher with bad UG acads, but I prepared without giving much thoughts to this. I remember the words my father used to say when I used to complain about reservation system during my school days 'If you desire something then you should become capable enough to get selected even if there is one general seat available. If you aren't, then you need to put in more hardwork'.
I know a lot of folks here feel dejected because of the weird selection criteria of most b-schools, about the gender and academic diversity points, about b-schools which wants people who are already golden (because we no longer need people like Gautam Puri who is an IIM B alumnus and a five pointer), about the lack of transparency. Trust me when I say this I've faced the brunt of it, many aspirants have. Ā
But then isn't that the point of a struggle ā to make you a mentally tougher person, someone who has been through downs and emerged out of it stronger, to make you a person who can steer through disturbances, to be a risk taker, to make you manager worthy even before you join a b-school so that you can stand out when you enter the actual corporate world. It's about making the most of any situation.
Anyway, Pagalguy has provided me a great platform for reading inspiring stories, interview experiences, discussing and debating, voting on funny posts among plethora of other things. I hope to remain active on Pagalguy, to help the upcoming aspirants as the people before me have.
Best wishes to all those who made it and all the aspirantsĀ
