While filling out SP Jain form, I included marks of all my subjects that I have pursued in graduation. Then I averaged the marks of all these subjects and filled in the result i.e 80.3 in Graduation percentage.
However the criteria that is followed by my university for calculating percenatage is a bit different. We are given different credits for different subjects. Not only this, while calculating the the final percentage what our univeristy does is it just leaves three subjects in which we have scored the least and then calculate the effective percentage. My percetage calculated by the my university is 79.17.
As Spjain strictly mentioned in their form that we must enter all the subjects irrespective of whether they have been used for calculation or not, I decided to go with the former one i.e just a plain average of scores that I have achieved in my graduation.
Also there is no conversion factor as such and thus didnt mentioned the same while filling the form.
Now we have been asked to upload graduation marks doc and the percentage mentioned in it is 79.17 which is different from average i.e. 80.3.
I am almost done with my BTech(VIT) and scored 97.9 percentile in CAT 2017 with close to no preparation. I also have scored 99 percentile in NMAT. However, since I was not that aware about MBA applications I missed out on applying for various colleges like MDI and SPJAIN. My class X and XII acads are nice but I messed up in my graduation which is 6.9 now. Should I join a college I might get now or prepare and give CAT next year?( I scored only 86.81 percentile in Quants which i believe i can enormously improve upon).
