One of my friends got 98.8 in CAT’17. His sectionals are 94,88 and 99 Acads 10th- 9.8 CGPA 12th- 96 % commerce Graduation- Economics Hons 74% Work ex-1.5 years Still he didn’t get a call from IIM L/I. What could be the reason ? Should he file an RTI ? Is there any chance ?

Who are these people calling then (if not even 99+ percentilers)? For e.g., IIM-I? This was my first attempt at CAT and I'm pretty confident that I can do much better next year..but then, Is there any damn point? (engg drop-out here ; non-engg background in economics now)..
Even this work-ex thingy really adds to the overall profile only when it's around 24 months as per my understanding :/
