To all the Puys and Pirls here, a bit of unsolicited advice from someone who was in your shoes last year: (mostly for engineers) These are the points I wish someone would have given me earlier.
If you have enough free time, complete courses on Corporate Financial Reporting and Introduction to Finance Theory.
I'd recommend The 'Introduction to Finance Theory' OCW by MIT-Sloan. It's brilliant. This goes especially for guys who are going to try their hand at Finance Specialization at SP Jain interview. These are immensely helpful during the interviews, more so if you are interested in finance as a specialization
Good luck. You've put all your hard work into the exam. Now polish yourself for the final battle.

Why do most top Indian B-Schools have such a high weightage on academics?
I agree that as independed institutions they have the the right to decide their own selection criteria, but what is their rationale behind doing this?
Who deserves to sit in front of the interview panel- 90/90/90 and 97+ percentiler or 90/75/75 99+ percentiler?
Why would any instute not give atleast a chance to a candidate to sit in the interview even after being in the top 1% of an exam set by that very institute?
For the candidates who have given CAT for the first time, you will realize what I am talking about once the B-Schools release their shortlists for the interviews :P

What are the sectional cut offs for mid and new iim's? and is there any sectional cutoffs for iit's?
What's the reason behind some institutes giving more weightage to a particular section? And why is *that* section mostly VARC? Like, FMS giving more weightage to VARC.
For the normalised CAT score in IIM A's criteria. Is our score divided by 300 or is it divided by the highest score achieved by a 100%iler. Or is it something else altogether?
For cap 2018 if we get any call from old iim then that pi/wat score is sent for the selection of rest...does iim Shillong also includes in this?? I mean if I get a call from iim Shillong do I have to attend cap also?
