Overall analysis
• CAT 2017 Slot 1 exam paper was on easier side and similar to last year’s CAT.
• Non-Engineers to benefit from lower difficulty in Quant section
• Overall Cut off levels to go up from last year
CAT 2017 Slot 1 in short: Easy CAT on Expected lines
Total number of questions were 100. VARC section was of 34 questions, DI LR with 32 questions and Quantitively section had 34 questions. DILR was the toughest section, while Quantitative was easy with more arithmetic question. Verbal and RC were moderate. Overall, Cut offs are expected to go up.
1 Verbal and Reading Comprehension:
• Total Questions: 34
• 24 questions on Reading comprehension in 5 passages MCQ type 3 passages with 6 questions each; 2 passages with 3 questions each. Passages on History Environment light topics.
• 10 questions in Verbal out of which 7 were Non-MCQ type
jumbled sentence 5 questions : moderately difficult.

Can anyone tell me the estimated raw score for scoring a 95+ percentile in CAT 2016; since the overall difficulty level of CAT 2017 (forenoon slot) was similar to CAT 2016
The quant question which asked for a^2/b^2 ratio I spent like 5 minutes putting all options in the 2 equations but none solved both, at most 1.
Please tell me I am not alone in this and that the question was wrong.
