Hi guys! I have converted SIIB- IB and TAPMI (PGDM). Please help me make a decision between the two. My background- I am Economics graduate from Mumbai university and have 17 months’ experience. I am inclined towards Marketing/Finance. I do not have much knowledge about IB. I have heard that TAPMI has more IT centric profiles for placements.Placements packages for both colleges look similar, however I am more concerned about the larger intake of students at TAPMI. Please give your rationale for choosing one over the other. TIA.

Me: It's fine Sir (smiling)
No Tell me about yourself question, which is the only question I have prepared well for the interview instead i got attacked with my grades
P1: Surya your academics are very poor and you have repeated some subjects. You can't survive in MBA ( Looking at my grade card)
ME: I can work very hard (still little smile on my face)
P1: Every one says they work hard. Okay show me the forces acting on joints of given truss
Me: I showed him the reaction forces and said we use equations of equilibrium to find the unknown forces
P1: Show me the stress straight. curve of a beam
Me: I have the stress strain curves and showed him the proportional limit, elastic limit and yield stress points
P1: What is slope ?
Me: Young's modulus
P1: OK
P1: Show me the bending moment diagrams of a beam?
Me: I have shown him both with concentrated loads and uniform loads of a simple beam
(I have also mentioned qualifying for Appsc AEE prelims and done well in mains and selecting for interview in CIL)
P1: There is no proof of what you are saying we just have to believe you? And AEE is a Govt job then why MBA?
Me: I have interest in web development ( I don't know why I said that
P2: ( Who is silent uptil now) You have also mentioned working on a start-up then you should pursue it why MBA ?
P1: (Interrupted) Surya your grades are very poor even in 4th year you have 4 E's What is E grade
P2: Excellent?
Me: No sir, It's average

Me: Mentioned to P2 my interests in start-up and how I wanted to introduce technology to agriculture with drones and my interests in precision agriculture
P2: So what will you do after MBA?
Me: I will work in my startup
P2: So you won't take job in campus placements ?
Me: (Paused)
P2: If you give me you won't take job from campus in writing. I will give you seat right now
Me: ( I paused a bit ) and said OK
P1 (Again interrupted and said) These kind of guys will put us to shame
P2: (continued) Who is VC?
Me: Venture Capitalists enters the second stage of investments in startups after angel investors. They make projections of our Bplans before investing
P2: What about soil Mechanics ? OK your academics are poor

P2: What is difference between Hindustan and Carnatic?
Me: Sir I know only Western
P2: Okay then Rock and Pop?
Me: Rock emerged from blues so is pop but rock mostly uses blues scale using gift notes while pop2 uses major and minor scales
P2: what about jazz?
Me: It has jazzy sound (p2 laughing) I mean jazz uses 7th chords and notes which gives it the jazzy sound

Me: votzap is a Q & A website. Internet is basically asking questions in search engines and looking for best answers in results and when I first saw about Quora and how it became better than yahoo answers and other Q & A sites. It was simple focused and personalised ( I just told what ajay once told me about Quora and continued)
Indians are a big part of Quoran community and we want to create a more personalized and focused Q & A based in India.
Engineering concepts and formulas taught us how to solve problems, we did everything by the book and the product was working fine but we were unable to launch it successfully , we were lacking the managerial skills to get clarity on things So I wanted to Do an MBA

I am currently working for a psu and I want to study management, I get very less time for preparation so I thought of leaving my job but i can even take unauthorised leave. During the GDPI, school would only ask for the joining letter and payslips; that I can provide but the release letter which I have to submit later on after the admission will show the loss of pay months. Will it cause a problem in my admission process? Please suggest. Thanks;

B- so prateek, tell us something about you
M- i started speaking about my birthplace, interests in sports basketball,athletics (from 5th to 12th) , mentioned that i was youngest house captain (in 9th class).. topped my city in 12th class...got a seat in nit durgapur chemical, was interested in extra curiculars more there...told that i wanted to improve my overall personality to compete with other 800 students..worked as scriptwriter director actor and was VP of my club...got a placement in grofers and was branch openerTHEY WERE QUITELY LISTENING TO ALL THIS FOR ABOUT 4-5 MIN
B- you had relative grading ??
M- no sir , absolute
B- then toh your competition was with yourself
M- no sir, i didnt mean that by competition, iwanted to have a more effective personality , as earlier i belonged to a township , had a very small pool of competition and was more like a underdog here amongst the city guys here !!
L- so, why did u not appear in 2016 itself for CAT ?
M- mam, earlier i decided to get a job in management sector and work for 1-2 years, and so i got placed in grofers, but later i discussed with my brother he is also an mba graduate, as i didnt have any idea that which sector will suit me best ops, marketing or some other. so i thought of first doing an MBA, knowing my feild of interest and then pursue my career in that feild!
L- you wasted a seat for someone at grofers..didnt you??
M- maybe !! but i feel that i just kept a safe side for myself, which everyone should have to make the most unbiased career decision,and regarding wasting a seat...reliance comes to my campus it selects around 20 people every year, so there it is about quantity , thewre i would have wasted a seat.but for grofers 450 people applied around 55 were shortlisted and 4 were selected, so it was about quality here, certaily they would not have gone for other person if it was not me

M- no sir, i liked 2-3 subjects in my course

M- i wrote the formulas, bUT i was not so confident about one.
i asked the professor is it correct ??

what is the difference one has if he or she studies in govt institutes like DSE, IIT R,K and B schools like IMT, XIMB ? Exposure ? Industry interaction? What are the areas the B schools score over normal govt institutions?

How good is PGDM IB for finance in BIMTECH noida?What will happen if i paid the first installement and didn't join? This is my first convert and confused to pay or not.I had GDPI calls from XIME,GIM,KJ SIMSR,DOMS NIT trichy.please suggest.Thaks in advance
