What was the composite score cutoff for IIM B this year for GEM candidates? Did anyone file an RTI?
How do I ace XAT? (98+) Any tips? My XAT this year was a disaster.
Since someone wanted to hear from one of us who didn't make it to their dream colleges. Here is something I wanted to say- Before I begin I want to state that this is not an attempt to portray myself as a victim. I know I am not. I am a GEM fresher candidate who had 98.8%ile and 93/93/76 acads but could not secure an interview call from my dream college. Despite that heartbreak, I shall always be a rigid supporter of the reservation system and the IIMs' resolve to bring a balance to the gender ratio in higher education in this country because of reasons that become fairly obvious to me once I look around me. But it hurts. It hurts when you see people who have been offered an advantage, because they were underprivileged, throw it away casually. It hurts when you realise that pursuing one of the toughest graduation degree will be held against you. It hurts when you believe you have not achieved your potential. This world is unfair. Always has been and might remain this way forever. And I know I have lived a more privileged life than a lot of my peers. But it seems in order to compensate for that, the education system of this country has overcorrected itself to make it too demanding for unreserved candidates. That said, people from unreserved category obviously get into the best colleges and that makes one feel like they were never good enough to get there in the first place and are simply making excuses of themselves. This constantly lingering self doubt affects one for a long time. I started preparing for CAT 2020 in August. Joined a coaching but had to cover most of the syllabus by myself. Even before I started, I knew it has to be 99+ or nothing. I had even told my study partners, for lack of confidence in myself maybe, getting into the holy trinity was never on the table for me. Three hour mocks were catastrophic. Thought it won't happen this year not realising I still had the entire syllabus to cover. Then comes the notification for two hour mocks. I realised it suited me better. Marks in mocks did not improve much. Scored single digit marks in Dilr section on more than one occasion. Started giving mocks more regularly with a singular aim to perfect my strategy for the exam. I think this exam can be aced by a strategy that suits you more than anything else. Race to 99 sessions helped in fine-tuning it but it didn't reflect much in mocks. November 29. Woke up at 3:30 am to reach the centre (people from small towns might relate). Went in with a belief that it only has to happen once and that time is now. Fought sleepiness for 110 minutes but last ten minutes went blank. Result day. 98.8%ile. Sectionals were fine. Everyone congratulating. I knew I had done well considering my mocks but also knew my chance of getting into my dream college was over. Calls started to pour in and some came my was as well. For some reason I don't know I always believed CAP IIMs, IITs were a safe bet only to be proven wrong. Got no PI calls from IITs and haven't even converted a single new IIM despite what i believe was a decent interview. NITIE PI wasn't upto the mark and MDI, Shillong PI were bad. My converts Sirmaur, Nmims and IMT (as of now). I know that I am responsible for most of what I have achieved or haven't. Can't be making excuses for my lack of abilities. I also know that the criteria set by IIMs for promoting diversity, in every which way, has been done with the best of intentions. But still I hope that some introspection will help them realise that maybe they have gone too far and made it unreasonably hard for some. No one should have to start preparing by thinking that reaching ABC is not even an option. I would like to end by acknowledging everyone who has helped me achieve whatever I have achieved. Is Dheeraj Sharma, Director #IIMRohtak, a habitual criminal?
We have heard enough of criminalization of politics, here is a summery of criminalization of higher education.
1. Does Dheeraj Sharma even hold valid degrees to hold professorship? Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad also stands guilty of hiring Sharma without thoroughly examining documents.
2. There are enough evidences as received through RTI and Admissions in Chandigarh High Court that indicate that the Ministry of Education knows and does nothing to remove Sharma from the office or even initiate a enquiry against him.
3. A female professor has taken Dheeraj Sharma to the court after alleging Sexual Harrassement by the later.
4. IIM Rohtak under Sharma has tried to cheat IPM & MBA aspirants when the institute refuses to return their money after admission withdrawl.
5. There are series of FIRs against Faculty and Staff members under various provisions of IPC, which prima facie seems an intimidation tactics.
6. Just 2 #PhD students have remained at the institute in last four years.
7. MBA Student Pooja Gupta threatened and condemed to #5YearMBA for not taking back sexual and mental harrasement complaint.

Guys okay I know some of you are tired of reading this but for the last time, IIM Ranchi vs IIM Trichy? Please factor in all the aspects. You may skip if you've got no clue but I see alums of both colleges quite happy with where they ended up.
For context-- My profile: Commerce fresher. Havent decided my specialisation yet but its going to be either (or both) of Marketing and Finance.
Thoughts?
Engineering background with 2+ year work ex in a start up, worked in sort of PM role, no particular preference in mind, I have average acads though so I am worried which one should I opt for, please give your reasons if possible.
