Hello folks of PG, would like your opinions:

I have converted Ranchi and all new/baby IIMs except Trichy (and Rohtak ofc, because they can go to hell), VGSOM. 

Now the point is, I am in a good enough job at a product-based software co. and I get only slightly less than mean package at new IIMs. I do not intend to brag, just want to justify why I want to try again for old IIMs instead of new ones. 

I was preparing last year, but got Covid after Diwali and ended up underperforming majorly at CAT (97.xx), thus didnt get any old IIM calls. I am a GEM and have 9/9/9 in acads. Should I take up the offer from Ranchi, or try another shot at CAT, given how unpredictable it can get, and considering Ranchi is a pretty good B-school among the new ones? Another area of concern is by July I will have 36 mos of workex, and thus wont get as much points for workex come next year, also I hear too much experience isnt good placement wise at IIMs.
