Opinions required. I'm a CAT repeater, preciously have taken AIMCATs and SIMCATs. From my analysis I feel I sometimes find IMS VARC section to be quite vague, I might not agree with the solutions and sometimes can eliminate all the options. I felt the same with some Presimcat as well this year. Is this true for any other aspirant? Between the two test series, which one do you think is superior in terms of VARC? Also, if you have any better source for the same please mention. TIA!

Guys help me out, I am in dire need!!!! I did my graduation in 2018, btech mechanical engineering from a tier 3 college and from since then I wanted redemption and thus wanted to join an IIM that too ABC. I gave cat 4 times 2017 (98.86), 2018 (97.32), 2019 (97.16) and 2020 (99.16). My work ex is of approximately 24 months till may 2021 but the quality of work ex is average. My profile is 89/83/74 in 10th/12th/grad This year I got an admit into IIM shillong which I also got in my first year but I dont want to join it. I feel very sceptical about it. I feel like I have failed in my life and now I am in depression. These past years my life is spiralling down, I dont know what to do, I want to do something big I want to work in MBB or in HUL or P&G But that may not be possible through IIM shillong, also I feel IIM shillong is not upto the mark. I dont find any way out, my age is 25, I am GEM, I feel like I am alone in this world. Please help me, what should I do Somewhere inside my heart i want to give one last shot at cat but I am baffled by the probability of succeding Helpp me guys?!!!

Can students from reserved category be admitted into General/Unreserved Category in IIMs as in state counselling?
For example: If a student mentions his community as NC-OBC and tops IIM-A selection criteria, clears as the topper in admission process, he/she will be admitted in General category or NC-OBC category?

My VARC in CAT 2020 was not good with a meagre 80 ish %ile, what can be done in this section besides continuous reading?
People who have purchased VARC 1000 by gejo, it would be greatly appreciated if you can give a quick feedback on it. This is one course that is brought up time after time, and people speak so highly of it. Really want to understand why.
Also, how much of a role do you think does confidence play in this section? I know atleast in quant, where i prepared the least and still achieved 99.6% ile due to my (over?)confidence (perhaps luck also). While in VARC, i was praying to god to throw an easy delivery and was nervous before any mock even.
FMS WL 55(OBC). Chances?

Straight reject from FMS.. no waitlist but its OK , I understand.. but few facts must be cleared... one of my known one has not been waitlisted even at 99.99.. ok koi nahi... but the stats are really hurting... There are 60+ girls in 101 first offered in open category and out of 181 girls who were shortlisted for PI in open category... 150 are either waitlisted or shortlisted... meaning out of those 306 open candidates who have not been offered anything.. 275 are males... Its okay!! I understand why all these diversity points are needed... but a GEM guy hopes for few clgs who will not throw him off for being a GEM... and FMS was biggest name among them... but ab woh bhi nahi raha... This creation of a fair world is so unfair to GEMs... in case of fms even non engg. males... p.s. I am not saying this for myself... as I might have been last among those in consideration, but many even at 99.9+ have been rejected... and I feel really bad for them...
