I prepared for CAT2020 without any plan B in Β mind, scored decent but unfortunately won't make it top B-Schools. Now being a typical GEM fresher I have an offer in hand from cognizant!!! I don't want to work in IT sector, any suggestion what type of job profile should I apply for and in what companies....
MBA + FRM ? Worth it ? Any advantages during placements & long term career prospects ?Β
Hi PG fam, How do you know your Rohtak waitlist number? This doesn't really say anything except, 'Please wait for next list' Am I missing something here?
When are the courses commencing for A and B? Has a particular date been given?
Congratulations to all GEM brothers in Rohtak, enjoy these 2 years as much as you can!!
Vibing the feels of IIM-Rohtak.Β
No offence ladies, so just for fun.Β

Need genuine opinions.Β
I've converted both IIMA and IIMB. I am a general engineering male, with about 25 months work-ex. Had quit job last year in September.Β
I've a ~99.6 percentile, 90+ in boards, 8.2CG, and I am a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from an old IIT. Work ex of 25 months in operations and maintenance. Currently, I am looking to go after consulting summer internships- but it may change in future during finals.
I do not have extraordinary extra curricular achievements, no bigshots positions of responsibilites in college (have a couple at hostel council level), no olympiads, no KVPY, no CFA, no sports achievement, etc. So my CV doesn't have any such highlights.
Through research of my own and after talking to the people at IIMA and IIMB, I have come to realise the following points:
1. IIMA has higher academic rigour. You've to devote more hours daily towards classroom preparation, and classes are held 5 days a week. IIMB has comparatively lesser academic rigour, and has 4 day week classes.
2. Freshers are about 40% at IIMA, while the number is about 15-18% at IIMB. I am not sure how much would it matter for a guy with work ex like me.Β
3. No legal booze in Ahmedabad. Bangalore as a city beats Ahmedabad.
4. Clubs are more active in B as compared to A, because of less acads load in the former.
5. B has more workshops, seminars and industrial visits, it being in a metro city.Β
6. A apparently has a slight advantage when it comes to brand recognition as compared to B.
7. Placement opportunities are similar at both the colleges, but more startups visit Bangalore since it's a metro city.
I am genuinely confused as to which one I should take. Please give me honest opinions, considering my profile.
Thank you and all the best to everyone.
aur kitna wait???
Scenario 1. Amazing Interview process, the panelists spend more than 30 mins with you, you have a very enriching chat touching all that you've done. They take time to know you as a person. However, when the results come, it's a straight reject. Scenario 2. Very rude panelists. They seem very uninterested and keep cutting you off in between. They don't actually listen to what you say, and at one point they criticize in a not very polite way and keep putting you down. But in the end, you get a convert or atleast a convertible waitlist number. Has something like this happened to anyone?
If the CAP results on 21/5 are less than satisfactory, How many of you will be willing to apply for BITSOM - Mumbai ? (Last date: 23/5)
And where do you think BITSOM will stand after it's first batch passes in '23 ?

Does SP Jain consider GMAT for Indian students PGDM admissions? If someone has converted it through GMAT, Pls comment or DM, I had doubts regarding the date/month by which the exam attempt has to be taken, as well as the range of scores that are considered ideal for selection.
(The IIFT essay writing process has been so shitty that I've almost given up on converting it, and so hoping to give a GMAT attempt in the next 2-3 months for the sake of having some sort of backup before the upcoming CAT)
