Had my last interview today. Despite decent calls from good colleges, i couldn't manage even a single good interview. Some were humiliating & some just made me feel low (like the one today). After 30 months of workex and quitting my job i don't have a choice but to take up something. Coming few days are going to be the toughest. Nothing matters if one doesn't convert.

Which institute is best among the following? I have a slight inclination towards Finance (though not set in concrete). Would be much appreciated if you could rank these and give reason for the same too.

  • Poll Check
  • DBE, DU (Department of Business Economics)
  • IMI New Delhi PGDM
  • DSE, DU (Delhi School of Economics)
  • New IIMs (T, U, Ranchi, Raipur, maybe Kashipur)
  • Baby IIM ( Amritsar, Vizag, Nagpur)
  • DFS, DU (Department of Financial Studies)

I know maybe I'm overstepping on this but I feel while it is important for a candidate to give a great interview in order to have a decent shot at being finally selected, it should be equally important for a college to give a great interview experience to a candidate as well in order to not miss out on some really good talent. We have all come across numerous posts mentioning certain erratic questions. While I'm all in for questions involving the use of critical thinking, I don't understand the purpose of throwing certain questions just for the sake of it. I still remember certain geography and currency questions posted by people here. While my intention here is not to hurt someone's pride who has given really great interviews, my heart goes out to those who worked very hard until that interview moment but got thrown off by some random questions which will have zero to minimum impact in and after MBA life. I mean "tell me a good pickup line", what's that about? Is it really one of the best ways to judge someone's spontaneity and quick-thinking? And then there were some really crude or harsh comments given to the candidates as souvenirs at the end of the interview. Is it the best way to check if a person can maintain poise and grace in shocking situations? There are interview guidelines sent to interview panels before they go for IAS exams. I wonder if there's any for MBA colleges as well. I wish (a special mention to IIT Kharagpur VGSOM for doing the same) colleges start sending follow-up mails to candidates to rate and review interview experiences just so that 'they too may improve themselves and come back again - a lot more prepared'. Nonetheless, all the best to everyone here - those who convert what they wanted to, those who will prepare for what they want to. โœจ

Any tried and tested free sites for watching UCL?

Ronaldo7 seems to have stopped working a long time ago. Yesterday Soccerstreams(dot)net fcuked up during that Benzema banger. Can't let that happen today. Interesting match up next.ย

I never thought that old IIMs will have to face the wrath of corona. But seeing the present situation i find so many pgp students posting on linkedin for internshps or job coz their recruitment has been postponed indefinitely. this is a scary situation, considering one pays 20lakhs+ for mba and isn't able to bag even a single decent job. Also some people who put up such status have fab profiles. Makes me scared for myself!!

Why do people keep hyping up IIM Udaipur so much comparing to Ranchi ? I mean I understand the placement reports are shady and IIM ranchi has a fixed CTC average of 9-12 but why Udaipur when the placements are more or less same infact inferior compared to IIM Ranchi. Also why is there so much hype for IIM Trichy when they don't even have good brands coming up there way. IIT M Doms has better placement than all of the new IIMs in terms of fixed component.ย

Guys, what's the difference between IMS Presimcat and Proctored simcat?

What's up? Are admissions over this year?

Ok, almost end of last week of this month.

IIM Shillong results tomorrow?ย

What should be the preference b/w IMT G vs IIT Kanpur

Hi Guys , I have one doubt regarding weightage scores for academics/work exp. For example in Ranchi admission criteria - Acads 85% above 4 marks , 80-85 4 marks. If a candidate scores 84% then he will get 3 marks or he will be given with interpolation score like 3.8 ?

Will I be eligible to register at IIT-IIM Matrimony dot com if I do my MBA from any baby IIM?

Since we are in a limbo currently regarding IIM results I have been lurking telegram/...... groups of IIM A shortlisted candidates. Interestingly there have multiple opinions about how one should choose IIM C above A and B. The reasoning behind this is that 1.)it would be easier to get your desired placement shortlist in C than in A and B if you have reasonably good acads owing to the contrast selection criteria in all the 3 top B schools ย 2.) C has relatively chill culture academcially 3.) For finance one should blindly choose C. There haven't been any strong counter arguments to this. So is this true and something that we should have in our mind before forming our decision? Are there considerable number of people who choose C over A, B for exactly the reasons stated above? Or is it some kind of bubble which people are trying to build ?
