I have a conspiracy theory. Hear me out before passing a judgement. Every year there are suicides at almost all top B-schools, especially ABC. One of the main driving factors behind these suicides is stress, frustration and sleep deprivation. If these B-schools could find a way to teach students to live with it, it would considerably bolster the positive image of the institutions. So all BLACKIS directors get into a meeting room. All of them have a proposal that they plan to table. There is a look of glum satisfaction of each of their faces, each believing that they've cracked a code. Indore opens the meeting, as it is their turn to conduct CAT. Indore: Students prepare for CAT round the year, often blissful of the impact of their profiles and PI performance. So it is the best point to improve their stress threshold. Hence I propose to drastically change the pattern and make the sections outrageously imbalanced in their difficulty. Also, I'll release the results just one day before their second most exam. That should teach them what stress is. Kozhikode stands up to go next. Starts with a patronising comment towards Indore: A very noble pursuit indeed, be we needn't unnecessarily stress all 2L aspirants. As per a study we've conducted, most suicides are entitled GEMs, so as a part of our exercise, we'll reject a bunch of guys who are amongst the top 0.5 percentile of the aspirants to teach them that life is unfair and doesn't give a fuuck about how good you are. Lucknow: Innovative indeed. But we have a better idea. All mature and serious candidates know that the PI is the most crucial aspect of the selection process. Hence we plan to conduct 5 minute interviews where they cannot gauge their performance. This will teach the buggers that shit in life is as random as it gets. A (On behalf of B and C): Though the PI is the most crucial aspect, the candidates still feel they have some control over it. I'll teach them that they are forever powerless in life by screwing with the date of release of results. This should help them deal with uncertainties in life. S: As usual, I've been left out of the fray. But I take no offense. I have no proposal, but I can make sure that my panellists with random asss questions should be able to create atleast some impact. Do colleges release their placement reports before or after new batch admissions (Or say last date of fees payment)?
Hey guys, wanted your opinion on something. It's not very relevant, but I have a lot of time to kill. Did any of you use Unacademy for your CAT prep? If yes, what was your opinion of it? My background - I started my CAT 2020 prep with the Rodha channel on YouTube. I really enjoyed the way he taught quant but the videos on YT are limited. When I found out Ravi Prakash was on Unacademy, I took a one month membership. I regretted it the moment I watched the first class. I felt like too much time was wasted on pleasantries (hi, hello, etc) and then there were too many interruptions during the class by people who were probably not even that serious. I used the rest of the month to watch Arun Sharma's DILR classes, where I felt the interruptions were lesser and I learnt new approaches to questions. I'm curious to know if any of you have a positive review of Unacademy and what your opinion is. If not, feel free to rant :P

I have a question which most folks must have thought about at some point or the other:
Why do IIMs charge such hefty fees ?
Logically I am not able to fathom the rationale behind this. They are not entirely private institutions. Plus the facilities, although decent, do not justify the fees. Most of the top IIMs have small restrictive campuses with worn down buidings. Plus the hostel conditions are subpar at best.
Education is one aspect you cannot pin a cost to, agreed, and IIMs do provide world class education. But if you compare it to UG institutes with comparable brand value(eg, IITs) you get equally accomplished professors+education, much better facilities and campus life at a fraction of the cost.
What am I missing?

Hey Guys, Bas kisi ko bolna tha toh idhar share kr eraha hun. Last time koi accha calls nhi aaya toh drop liya, job chor diya startup chalane. Iss baar acche mai only C,L,I,XL, fms calls aaye and I dont think any of these interviews went as well as they should have, people have posted better interview experiences than what I have experienced. Interviews ka koi bharosa nahi hai. Ek toh ye anxiety jaan le raha hai and today I came to know ki meri gf (since 6 years) has been cheating on me the last 1 year. Mar jaane ka man kar raha hai. I am unable to sleep and have no idea of what to do. Am I wrong or is this world f**ked up.
