With rising cases of Covid , is there any chances of shutting down colleges? Considering this how wise is to take great lakes chennai 1year PGPM course over Tapmi/Fore.
Views on IIM Ranchi HR program?? 1) Is the curriculum relevant for top tier HR jobs? 2) Are the placement figures thoroughly inflated or are these bona fide numbers? 3) where does it stand among the likes of XLRI, TISS, XAHr, SCMHRD? 4) and this ones important....does it make sense to hop onto the HR domain after 2 years of experience in some non-hr/ non-technical line of work? Thanks.
What was NITIE sectional cut off? I didn't fill it with OA 98.4 and 88 QA, my decision was vindicated right?

Dropping the first hook - I will be joining SPJIMR to pursue MBA in marketing this June.
Starting the story now-
my first shot at MBA was when I got shorlisted for ISB's YLP in my final year. I cleared the first round, wrote GMAT, scored 680 but obviously didn't get an interview call.
I somehow wanted to avoid CAT because I perceived it to be a mountain which couldn't be conquered. Stories where people scored 98-99 and still didn't get good colleges haunted me. But then I decided to let's just do it (Nike Symbol). And from the very first day, I knew I was in this for just one year and decided to give my all. Started the preparations in March 2020 when lockdown happened, came back to my parent's place after 5 years to WFH and to prepare. Preparing while working wasn't easy, but the question is - is it worthy if it's easy?
I just made sure I study at least 1 hour everyday and 1 mock every week. Wrote ~50 mocks in total and never crossed 85 percentile in any of them, my lowest sectional scores were in negatives too. This was the -1 phase of this sine curve, I applied to ALL THE COLLEGES - DBE, IMI, IMT,XIMB, DSE, NM, SIBM, MICA, IIMs, GL etc etc. and then to let my kismat do its part, I also applied to SPJIMR, MDI and a couple of others Tier 1 colleges.
Wrote CAT on Nov 29, the paper went exactly like a mock, wasn't expecting much. Took one day break wrote MICAT the next week, marksheets and answersheets came out, scored around 82. Was very happy because I knew this will get me 90 percentile atleast so I will be eligible for IMT and MICA which were my dream colleges of that phase. I remember telling my friend that in April 2021 after all these processes, the most ideal scenario for me would be to have IMT and MICA offer letter in my hand. Then started preparing for SNAP and NMAT, wrote them decently, considered XAT out of my league (didn't even check its pattern) even slept for sometime in XAT paper because I had all the time in the world.
December last week, SPJIMR released its profile based calls and I was shortlisted. But you know what was my first reaction, chalo at least one tier 1 college call, will have a good experience. Convert toh hona nahi hai.
January 2nd, ~5PM. Checked CAT percentile - 97.1 (86/97/96). For someone who wasn't even expecting to cross 90, scoring ~97 was unbelievable. Khushi ki lehar pure ghar mein. At that point I felt, I am probably not that bad. NMAT 250, CAT 97.01, MICAT 42, not all of them could be fluke. Bas fir next day wrote XAT 93 perecentile lol, "paper mein kaun sota hai?"
This 97 percentile gave me hope, that I just might have a shot at SPJIMR and few other good colleges. Started preparing for GE-PI right away, very very very rigorous prep. I knew I will have only a coupld of GREAT calls and I had to make sure, I give my best. I studied everything, EVERYTHING but ECE from my btech.
Interview season started off with IMT and IIM Rohtak, IMT went well, Rohtak toh GEM ke liye KBC hi hai. Then SNAP released percentile, scored 97.93, was hoping to get SCMHRD call, fortunately got both SIBM and SCMHRD calls. Gave many interviews in a month's time -
IMT, IIM Rohtak, SCMHRD, CAP, SPJIMR, XUB HR, SIBM P, IMI, IIT B, XIMB, IIT KGP
(haven't given IIT M and MDI ka interview yet)
Most interviews went okayish, and then colleges started releasing their admission calls
Converted SIBM P first, then IMT Marketing, SCMHRD and then finally on then on March 23rd, SPJIMR released its list and I got into marketing. FEELING was SURREAL.
I was in a meeting and I asked the other guy, it's an emergency I will call you back later. And then checked the results. OMFG! Read the word congratulations 10+ times to understand what it actually means.
So yes, that was the story.
Most important takeaway from this experience is- Jame raho.

How many of you haven't filled NITIE form for having one section below 91 and now seeing that people with 86/87 in a section are getting shortlisted for PI? 😂😂😂😂 P.S. Gem hoke rohtak ka form bhar diya par NITIE ka nahi...Itnaa gussa aa raha hain khudpe 🤬🤬🤬
Everyone out here waiting for results while my biggest interviews are still left. why is there no end in sight?
