He had shared his IIM L ABM scorecard on pagalguy. Visit his PG profile to check the image. I am just resharing the insights for puys and pirls to have a better idea on the weightage of PI. You can see the effect of weightage of various components on final composite score. Total score of 40.796 in final composite score.

Breaking down the components: For General Category in top B-Schools

1. CAT percentile is almost in the range of 98+ for all and the top general call to the lowest general call will not have a difference of more than 1-2 marks considering weightage.

2. Work Experience points have a weightage upto 5 marks.

3. Academics background - People coming from diverse UG backgrounds do have a weightage upto 5-10 marks.

4. Academics 10th /12th/Grad - Shortlisted candidates usually are above 90+ percentage in 10th /12th. Even if someone is at 80+, the difference between a 90+ candidate and 80+ candidate will be of around 1 mark after weightage.


Considering the shortlisted candidates in the ratio of 1:10. The composite score for final selection between a top shortlisted candidate for interview and last shortlisted candidate for interview will be not more than 10 marks.


5. Personal Interview - This has a weightage of 40 marks in final composite score. Any other person who has not listened to your actual PI cannot determine your possibility of selection on the basis of metrics such as Poor, Average, Good.


Considering 200 seats for general and 1:10 ratio in interview calls, the final composite score gap would not be more than 1-3 marks for more than 1900 shortlisted candidates. You have to wait for the results, as no one can predict the 40 marks of your PI score. Weightage of 40 marks in PI is way high, even for a candidate from lower shortlist composite score to score amongst the highest in final composite score.

My first thought after I came out of the room was " should've never told anyone that I got a shortlist here, now they'll think am a loser". And this bloody mindset has been drilled into us by everyone in the society. We place too much emphasis on the result, but not on the process leading to it. Let's make the process supreme, the results irrelevant 🌟. Let's stop judging people by the results they get, rather let's appreciate them for the rigorous process they followed and learn from it.
