Which college is best in CAP for Mgmt Consulting as a domain?
I am trying to connect my long term goal with a college that has good record in the domain.
In today's iim c interview, I was asked if this is my 3rd cat attempt, i said yes. He asked when was the first one, i said 2018 after my grad was done. But I now remember I actually gave CAT in my final year in 2017 too. Do they have access to my previous CAT records? Will this cause problem?, Was it a honesty check and i messed it up?
For interest in operations role which colleges are good among CAP? And is there a difference between Profiles offered in cap colleges and old iims for operations role?
Which among the following provides the best ROI for finance?

P1: You are the 3rd Limaye that I met in my life the 2nd one was alumnus of IIM Calcutta. What do you think is the probability that I will meet a Limaye in my life?
Me: Told something about the area he lives in and the total number of Limayes in the world.
P2: So tell us who you are and why MBA?
Me:Told
P2:Why did you pick Table Tennis? ( state level TT player )
Me: Told about how I tried different sports and liked table tennis because it was game of focus and footwork etc
P2: Chinmay why do I feel you have worn shorts below the suit?
Me: (surprised) No sir I’m wearing a trouser.
P2: Its ok we wont ask you to stand up.
P1:Tell us some big air craft manufacturer ( aviation was my hobby )
Me: Boeing,Airbus,Bombardier
P2: What about douglas?
Me: I have heard about them they were popular back in 70’s but not sure how they are doing now.
P1: So is the order of the manufacturer the way you told us
Me: No Sir, I will put Boeing below airbus because of their 737 Max controversy. They also lost 500 orders because of that.
P2: So you are a mechanical engineer what is your fav subject?
Me: Sir, that’d be fluid mechanics.
P2: So how does a cricket ball swing? I know you are a TT player but I would like to know.
Me: Told about magnus effect and the pressure gradient caused because of velocity difference which generates lift and rotation.
P2: (not convinced) What about the shine of the ball?
ME(clueless): I think the more shiny the ball is the more the ball will swing because the rougher the ball there will be small crevices which may cause vortices generation which might reduce the lift and lower the velocity.
P2 seemed satisfied
P1: So you want to become an environment hotshot? ( related to my career goal)
Me: Sir not a hotshot but do something that has an impact?
P2: Are sir he might have a problem with the word hot (lol)
P1:Ok maybe coldshot then. Its good chinmay we need more people working on sustanability. I will ask you a few questions then.
P1: So what is carbon credit?
Me: I have no idea about that
P1: what is carbon trading?
Me: Sir I have no clue of that either
P1: I am not convinced about your plan chinmay I will give you a last chance.
Me: Sir lets take an practical example ,lets consider ITC they produce classmate notebooks and also cigarettes so what they can do is reuse the old notebook cardboards and use them as a cigarette box ehich will be sustainable as well as cost effective.
P1: All right we get it.
P2: All right we are done do you have any questions for us
Me: I have 2 sir.
P1: Oh my god, 2? Ok go ahead
Me: Asked why the place is called Joka and asked about the Everest expedition.
P2: Told how they and their colleagues have no clue as well.
P1: Sir I think 3 years back some people went to Everest base camp. But I think I depends on the batch jokars tend to be lazy.
Exchanged few words and then i logged off.
