I feel really demotivated about my cat preparation even though I plan to give it next year. I'm a BA english student and MBA seems to be the only way to expand my career horizons. Going to a premier bschool is tough but even if I work hard is it that impossible for me? One of my friend suggested me to go to lpu or amity for mba. I feel more hopeless after that.
Due to stereotypes about how arts students end up as teachers it is pulling me down. I want to hope for a better future and iim pedagogy is no joke. I don't want to go down that line. What do I do?

I have friends from different backgrounds aiming for cat but I feel like they can do significantly better than me but still not get a call. Everybody seems to be invested in management studies but don't know if they even know what they want to do there but just for money. I do have a similar case but I genuinely want to go into marketing and brand management. I know there are others like me but some of us may fall behind engineers or CAs.
I never ask if mba is worth it because I know it is but I don't know how do I become capable enough to do mba with those achievers.
To all the aspirants, here are a few advices that I want to share from my own experience after clearing CAT 2019 and atending Term-1, that you may follow. These are the briefs and I would elaborate on each one of them as and when I get time.
1) Start getting a hang of the current affairs from now because you won't get sufficient time between the exams and the calls. So keep reading newspapers and/or online articles on business, foreign and politics related stuffs.
2) You will be asked to fill forms for each of the colleges you get shortlisted for the interview round. So, get a word document ready with the answers to the questions that I will be sharing shortly.
3) The most important document of your PGPM will be your one-page resume. I will be sharing the intricate details and the preparation that you should do before hand so that you do want waste much time in gathering points and their proofs but in arranging them to make your resume most effective.
4) Most PGDM/MBA will not give you any specialization. Even if you ask people for advice, most will ask you to not bind yourself to such thinking now and advise you to explore the curriculum and industry through internship. My advice here in brief is that if you are really interested in a particular domain say finance or marketing, find out paid and worthy certifications and start those once you are completed with the interview rounds by March/April. The time before you join the college will be enough to complete a majority part of it and you will have a valid proof to show your interest in a particular domain. I will expand on this as well.
