*Ripple* A small stone is lying somewhere In the middle of nowhere The little boy looks at the little rock He looks aghast, he was in shock It was just perfect, like a gem The shape made throwing it easier to him He picked it up and left for the lake The stone didn't know what was at stake The kid had to show his friends He wasn't worthless and it wasn't the end He had a new stone in hand With a new target in his head He had to beat the boss His stone should jump the most Sending Ripples in the lake His reputation was now at stake He looked at the lake and made an angle Everyone was looking at him, it was time To pressure was huge, he could feel it through He had to perform, there was no second chance He threw the stone with full force One two here it goes It got slow, will it break even? The target score he needed was seven He did it, it was done He had scored a perfect ten! His friends picked him and laughed along He was the new king for time to come He looked at the ripples the stone made They spread in the water but they fade It moved the water for sometime He closed his eyes, the sun shined bright He opened his eyes and he was in his bed It was not a dream he remembered The child in him was playing with his mind Well it had to do something, it had the happiness to find Those were the days when he was kind The ripples made him think of his life Flapped his wings like a butterfly The ripples somewhere made a tornado He had done and everything he wanted to do The child was lost in the ripples of time He had returned because it was his time to shine He heard the news, the call just came He had to think of a name For his daughter who was just born His emotions went haywire, like a storm He was so happy yet he cried He saw her on the cam with her little smile This was not a dream, it was true The ripples had no color, but the water was blue The Ripples were true to their nature The circle of life was no ordinary creature

Hi guys!! I m new to this group and thinking of MBA as an option for higher studies. I have been working as a process engineer in a large conglomerate for last 2 and a half years in operations domain. And this sector has been hit hard by Covid 19 as work from home is virtually impossible in this domain. And there are inside talks of layoffs in upcoming months if the current situation prevails. Not that I am worried about it but for last few days I am seriously considering going down the mba path for a career change. Path which I never intended to take before. I graduated from one of the best new IITs in mechanical engineering. I have also interacted with my batch mates studying in top IIMs and other b schools and they told me the harsh realities of the admission process and that's my major worry. ( they also suggested me to join this forum for updates.) I hail from a village in UP and completed my high school and intermediate from UP board. And little did I know that my grades are this bad. High school: 74% Intermediate: 80% Although that time when I passed the exams with distinction, my father distributed sweets in my neighborhood. But I have been made aware that for a GEM candidate these simply won't cut it for top b schools. To top it off my Grad gpa doesn't help the matters either. It's only 7.43/10. But I did have 3 research papers published in peer reviewed journals and one of them was presented in conference in Busan, South Korea. But I am not sure if it will matter during the selection process. As far as I know only your acads and cat score matters in the first shortlisting. So I am stuck in a real predicament. Whether starting preparation for cat 2020 will be worthwhile or not.. Just like to hear some suggestions from u nice folks. I have been scrolling through the comments in this group ever since I joined. I just don't want to continue in operations domain. It used to be pretty stable but Covid has shown it's not anymore. Just want to hear your opinion about what top colleges are within reach if I score good percentile and the ones that are impossible to get a call from irrespective of my percentile. Just to summarise my academic credentials.. 10/12/grad : 74/80/7.4 (Up board/IIT) if that matters all. Thanks in advance..

This season, most discussed (new) IIM seems to be Udaipur (among converts & waitlisted people). Major reasons, from what I have observed 1. It's ranking in QS & FT - a global recognition. 2. AASCB accred (youngest B school to get in India). 3. IPRS audited placement reports. 4. Located in tourist hub - HRs love to visit. 5. Amazing Director 6. One of the best Student exchange program (among new IIMs) & International Business Program (150+ participants). Some add-ons 1. Surrounded by Aravali hills, massive 300 acre campus 2. Mess- Food is managed by Sarovar Hotel & Resort 3. 30+ students clubs, societies, committees PS - Companies visiting new IIMs & profiles offered are almost on similar lines. Neither one is too ahead. I will prefer IIM U (will join Shillong - if converted) over Trichy.
Considering the B-Schools go online for 1st trimester, aren't they assuming that everybody has a laptop/PC (Assuming classes are difficult on mobile as Professor's PPTs won't be clearly visible) along with Good and sufficient internet connection? Isn't it wrong and can't we do anything like involved MHRD or do something encouraging BSchools to postpone the session a bit if it helps but at least have physical classes since MBA is also abt Communication and networking

I got good grades in 10th and 12th (9.5 and 9.4) But In Engineering I got 20 backlogs ( Due to Health issues as I didn't went to college regularly) and I came to know that it's impossible to clear 20 backlogs in that affiliated university and I shifted all my credits Other College in Chennai and Written exams There and cleared in 2 sems So 2014-18 (old college) and 18-19 (new college)
I got 68% in old college and 60% for the backlogs which I cleared in new college
Now My Question Is (General category)
1.With this kind of Education Background and 1 Year Gap What Will Be The Max Score Required To get Calls From Baby IIMs Atleast or Any Private B Schools??
2 Will They Consider My Profile If I Score good cat percentile???

10/12/BBA(waiting to write 6th sem)=89/85/72(4th out of 120) No extra curricular(the ones that really matters) neither in college nor school Volunteer-Scribe/Audio book host for visually impaired (2 yrs and counting) I flunked cat very badly (83) after having above average mock season(mock avg ~97%ile). Owing to OBC-NC n Non-Eng I got CAP calls,Rohtak,IIFT(score 137 cutodd was 115 i guess but pi was horrible wont convert it)..NMAT-207(😟) I started this season on a good note with SIMCAT-1 and Takehome-1...But I'm in doubt now after chatting with few fellas on PG, a senior, coaching mentor.All of them said that though I can get an admit in old IIMs at 99.5 ish but won't get a good summers which will somehow affect to get a better finals as well(consultancy other than MBB,ABG,Banks etc) Please give your honest opinion on what should i do.. I'm thinking of dropping idea of Cat for now and become PO in PSU or SBI..work there for 2-3 years and then join IIMs that way I guess I'll add some CV points (that matters) and will also become financially literate by then.. I'm in a dilemma on what to do
